In another thread, someone mentioned missed Jello 1-2-3. Found a recipe on the internet. I have never made it so I can't judge if the recipe works or if it tastes like the original.

MealMaster
MasterCook

3/4 cup boiling water
1 package Jello, any flavor (4 serving size)
1/2 cup cold water
Ice cubes
1/2 cup thawed Cool Whip

Pour boiling water into blender. Add Jello. Cover and blend at low speed until Jello is completely dissolved, about 30 seconds. Combine cold water and ice cubes to make 1 1/4 cups. Add to Jello and stir until ice is partially melted. Then add whipped topping; blend at high speed for 30 seconds. Pour into dessert glasses. Chill about 30 minutes. Dessert layers as it chills. Garnish as desired (lemon, orange or strawberry wedges, etc.) Jan

That would be me! Thank you! I think I'll try it tomorrow! I'll let you know how it goes.

Thank you again. :) :) :)

You are certainly most welcome. Please let me know if it is good. Then I will make DH some as a surprise.

Saffron and anybody else trying this--please post how it comes out!

I'm not a Cool Whip fan, but if this works, I'll be buying it to make it.

I loved Jello 1-2-3. It made a jello layer, a mousse layer and a whipped topping one.

I loved that stuff!

That was one of the fun things about going to Grandma's - she always would let us make that. Thanks for the memory!

If anyone tries it, please post and let us know if it's close to the 1-2-3 Jello. I used to love that as a kid. I do remember seeing the recipe and reading that it didn't taste exactly like the original but I guess it's still better than nothing.

Now I wish I had a set of the Tupperware parfait "glasses" my mom used to make hers in. Anyone have those? LOL! :p

OMG! If I wasn't so sick, I'd be on my way to the grocery store right now for the ingredients! I also don't have the "right" glasses, but I might have to start looking for some!

Maybe we should start an e-mail campaign to Jello to bring back the original 1-2-3!:p

Saffron- I so have 4 of those Tupperware Parfait things- complete too! My husband and I moved my MIL for her (she had moved to Orlando years before) and she told me to keep aside very few things, and either keep or toss the rest- I saved these (that was 8 years ago) and I have never used them. Now may be I can with this recipie thanks doxdogy for posting it.

There you go anditoo72! :p LOL! They're perfect for making 1-2-3 Jello! I remember the "feet" of the "glasses" used to snap off, and they had lids. LOL! Very cool for you! :) :wave2:

Well how did it come out? Has anybody tried it yet???

Deanna:confused:

:bounce: Bumpimg :Pinkbounc

Well I have the ingredients do I dare try it????

I remember Jello 1 2 3 and the tupperware parfait cups. Didn't the snap off base become the lid? How come you can't get anything like that anymore? Any tupperware ladies out there?

So, you are saying you blend everything together, pour it in the glass, and it separates out into the three layers?! And I always thought my mom was magic! If I can do this sugar free, I might have to try this for my family.

I used to have a recipe that sounded like this but you used vanilla ice cream. You mixed up the jello, poured it in the glass, let it chill a bit, then add the ice cream to the remaining jello and pour it on top and chill it til all jelled. It tastes really, really good. Let me know if anyone is interested and I will look and see if I have still have it. :sunny:

I bought the jello and cool whip
Now I need the ice cubes!

The ice cream one sounds good too.

By the way, there is an online petition to bring back 1-2-3

Remember Whip and Chill?

I couldn't resist - I just made this and stuck it into the fridge for after dinner - I have about an hour and a half for it to chill - hope this works. The kids would LOVE it if this turns out and it is something I can make after work!
