It was probably the one bright spot in his life after Grease.

My dd9 is a huge Grease fan. She just loved Danny Zuko and Kinicki. When Conaway was on CR, I sat her down and made her watch how sad he was. I explained the drug use and all to her and I think that made a real impression on her. I know she was young, but she has never forgot how he looked and sounded. She was upset to know that he died from all his drug abuse.

I really dread Dr. Drew being on every single news and entertainment program tomorrow.

Am I the only one who thinks Dr. Drew is in this purely for entertainment and $$$ ? How can a doctor think that putting people who are addicted (especially since many are also addicted to the celebrity attention) will get better being on a TV show?

Makes me sick.

I get the impression that he cares deeply about his patients and that were it not for the tv show many of them would NEVER have even agreed to seek treatment.

Regardless, Jeff Conaway's death is not the fault of Dr. Drew or Celebrity Rehab.

Never said it was. I just hope he doesn't use this as an opportunity to get in front of the cameras. I still do not believe the reality show rehab is for anyone seriously expecting rehabilitation.

I can agree with that...but I would hope it's a start. Sometimes people need to see themselves behaving terribly for the message to sink in.

Dr. Drew was the go-to guy for The Today Show when it came to celebrity downward spirals. They had him on for MJ, Lindsay Lohan, Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen and a bunch of others. I'd rather listen to (and look at ) him speaking than say Dr. Phil.

In the case of Jeff Conaway, Dr. Drew was quite close with him, having worked with him for a few years, going back to before JC's stint on Celebrity Fit Club. They considered each other friends. So in this case, hearing from an actual person who knew and loved Jeff and has worked with him on recovery would make sense...and that person is actually Dr. Drew.

I was only able to find two short clips on youtube from CNN/HLN with Drew talking about Jeff.



Am I the only person who remembers the Disney connection Jeff had? He was in Pete's Dragon! Played one of the awful hillbilly Gogan brothers.

Not the only one. I actually used like to Dr. Drew, a few years back he was on a show with Adam Corolla. and then I would watch CR and he also does 16 and pregnant-teen mom shows, but I think that he has gone astray and pimped himself out.


I used to be a fan of his official facebook page and unliked it soon after there was a thing for you to tell you friends about his page and then when they got to a certain number of fans they would show a "sexy" picture of him, that was it, he had lost all credibility.
