Has there been a more tragic person in our lifetime? What a sad, sad story. I don't even know if praying for him to recover (from his hospitilization; not his addictions) would be in his best interest.

I feel so blessed that I never felt the need or the desire to turn to drugs.

It looks like they are turn off his life support soon.

Hopefully he can have some peace now.

Oh my. I didn't realize he was close to death. That is really sad.

Wasn't he on the sit-com "Taxi" back in the mid-late 70s?

Yup, and was featured in Grease. He was also a co-star of the science-fiction masterpiece Babylon 5.

I saw some of his Celebrity rehab episodes and it was terribly sad. You could see how much physical pain he was in, and all he wanted was for it to end. I knew he wasn't going to be able beak his addiction. I hadn't heard about this though. Very sad ending for him and his family.

I saw him on Celebrity Fit Club and it just broke my heart. He just seemed like he had such a broken spirit. Sad.

(He also had a role on The Bold and the Beautiful many years ago.)

I remember him from Taxi, I didn't know this had happened to him. So very sad. :sad1:

One article I read just now said that they had turned-off life support yesterday (Thursday).

Do you know he was in Pete's Dragon too? He was one of the Gogan Brothers. DH and I loved him in each and every one of his roles and on Celebrity Rehab. So sad.

This is so sad. I wactched him when he was on Celebrity Rehab and felt so bad for him. You could tell that he was just in so much pain and so miserable.

About 3 years ago, he did a phone interview with the local morning dj's (Chris and Chris). It was so sad. Basically the whole interview he was trying to sell time shares. It was one of the saddest things I have ever heard in my whole life. He was so unstable. I think even the dj's, after the interview felt horrible. They weren't trying to egg him on or anything, they kept asking about his career and he would go back to the time shares. His speech was slurred, he made no sense. I hate to see anyone like that. I think he hit rock bottom years ago. Very tragic.

May he finally have some peace now. His last few years-well when i saw him on CR, he just looked like he wanted to be "free". So very sad.

I don't know why, but this hits me very hard. I feel like I was rooting for him to get his life together and recover. It was sad to watch him in that downward spiral (one I think we'll be seeing again as Charlie Sheen plummets)., and sad to see his life end this way.

I saw some of those episodes too, and remember thinking he needed to get far away from the girlfriend/co-dependent/enabler. I wasn't surprised to read that she visited him the night before he collapsed :guilty:
