When my car is paid off (that's the only thing I got in the divorce was that he had to pay the loan) next October I am looking to trade my 2001 Honda in for a Jeep. My car as of right now has only 14,000 miles on it so I should be able to get a decent price for it. I am not necessarily looking for a "new" jeep but whatever I can afford at that time. I want 4WD and love the look of the Cherokees.

Any input? Do you love them? Hate them? Have many problems with them? Would you change anything on them?

Thanks :)

i dont own one but have ridden in them many times. i wish i had one they are so nice. and i love the look, but i just got my new car and i wouldn't trade it in for anything right now. i love it!!

We leased a 2001 Jeep Cherokee and LOVE it! My favorite thing about it is it rides like a car not like an SUV. No problems with it so far, and since them 4 other friends have purchased one.
Good car, good company, in my opinion! :teeth:

We have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2WD and so far so good....no major mechanical problems....the brakes squeal when used, but, that is due to crystalization on the pads due to moisture and does not pose a safety problem .... Andy

I have a 2000 Jeep Gr Cherokee Laredo w/ 58,000 miles on it. NOT one problem!! Love it!!

We used to own a Cherokee, not a Grand Cherokee. We drove a rented Grand Cherokee to Florida twice and loved it.

Never had a problem with our Cherokee. We actually wish we could have held onto it.

Good luck with your new purchase!

Absolutely love mine!! It has just about all the extras making it very comfy (heated seats, dual ac, etc.).

We have a 1987 Jeep Cherokee - it has taught all three of my children to drive. Right now my youngest DS has it and it has over 200,000 miles. We all love it - it's a member of the family.::yes::

We just recenty bought a used car. It was between a Jeep Grand Cherokee and an Infiniti QX4. We opted for the QX4 because it was a better deal, but it was a hard decision to make. Three days after we got it, we got the Consumer Reports Car Issue in the mail. It pretty much said not to buy a 'used' G. Cherokee. My feeling is if a certain 'used' car isn't good, then the car isn't very good 'new' either. But, we did really like the way it drove and had a lot of nice features.

I'm on my second Grand Cherokee. Had my first one for 7 years with no problems. I've driven other SUVs but this is my favorite. We are a Jeep family. I have the GC, DH and DD drive Wranglers, and DD's SO drives a GC.

one of my parents i do daycare for has one and she has had a lot of problems with hers. Right now she is having a problem with the door locks. she has to pull her keys all of the time or she might lock them in her car as the lock malfunction. she wants to get rid of it but she just bought it 6 months ago.

I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. You need to watch out for transmission problems and some sun roof issues. I have not had many problems with mine but I did have a lot of work done under the warranty period on the transmission.

I love mine to death but its getting a little old now so a little tired. I have an Infinity sound system, standard on the Limiteds, and heated seats, my bun warmers that I love, and the back seat gives you more room and comfort than a lot of similar class SUVs.

If you buy new just make sure that the warranty covers the trainy and you will be all set I think. The Grands are great cars. I especially like the Limiteds. You will find, though that the cargo area is smaller than other similar class SUVs due to the design and in mine, which is older, the spare tire. We can fit more into the trunk of our sedan that we can in the Jeep with the seats up.

We have one and we LOVE it! It can go anywhere and holds anything we need it to hold. I don't like driving big vehicles but this does not feel big at all. It's very comfy to ride in. We are driving ours from here (Upstate NY) to WDW in September. The only problems we have had are normal maintenance. Parts are easy to get and not overly expensive. I totally recommend getting one.

DD's BF has a new basic model Jeep. He complains about the mileage...12mph in the city.
