Do they do sign ups during EMH in the morning or do they wait until 9? This is my youngest DS's last chance before he ages out so would like to have a plan.

1. Yes1. Do they do sign ups during EMH in the morning or
2. do they wait until 9?
We have never done this before and I just wanted to make sure I understand how this attraction works. In order for kids to participate you have to sign up in the am?
OK so what time do we need to line up if EMH opens at 8? Would 7 be a good time as we still want to go do RNR and TOT so want to be in the front of the pack.Yes.
Very likely all participant positions will be filled within the first couple of hours after they begin sign-ups.
That timing will depend on the overall crowd level.
The positions will fill earlier on AM EMH days, since they sign up AM EMH guests during that first hour.
A child wanting to participate must be present with an adult at the sign-up.
Thanks for your response. I'm surprised there isn't a fast pass or some reservation system for this.Yes.

30 min. before the park opens will be fine.OK so what time do we need to line up if EMH opens at 8? Would 7 be a good time as we still want to go do RNR and TOT so want to be in the front of the pack.
What I described IS the "system."Thanks for your response. I'm surprised there isn't a fast pass or some reservation system for this.
Thanks I understand that this is system now, I'm just surprised with fast pass and reservations required for so many of the sought after attractions, that there wouldn't be for this. are there only a limited number of spaces available throughout the day? If there are, someone will always be disappointedWhat I described IS the "system."
It would be a problem if they only offered it on-line, in advance.
In the past, it was "first-come, first served" at EACH show.
Lots of disappointed kids at each show.

Yes.are there only a limited number of spaces available throughout the day?
Yes. But frankly, everyone is likely to be disappointed at some point at Disney, whether it's not being able to run repeats on Toy Story, or not getting a JTA spot.If there are, someone will always be disappointed
Yes. Age 4 to 12, I believe. Is there an age limit for Jedi Training?
Yes.

Yes, thank you that was my point, no matter what the system they use someone will miss out![]()
This system is far better than the previous as if you show up by a certain time you get a spot. The other way you were dependent on some CM who seemed to pick certain kids at the show. For example, my older autistic son is SW obsessed and really wanted to do JT when he was 10. He went to every show that day with his dad missing out on most of the rides and never got picked. One of the later shows my DH noticed there were only 2 kids not picked and yep our DS was one of them. The CMs seemed to pick only the cute, pleasant looking kids. I would rather it be based on first come first serve than go through that again. Of course, my younger DS is cute so might have gotten picked anyways but the old system was not right IMO.Thanks I understand that this is system now, I'm just surprised with fast pass and reservations required for so many of the sought after attractions, that there wouldn't be for this. are there only a limited number of spaces available throughout the day? Thanks your post was very helpfulI posted in detail about our recent experience. It was on a regular opening day, not EMH, so the timing will probably be different, but it may still be useful to you regarding the signup process.

I think the main reason they don't do advanced reservations is that they want to ask the kids questions to make sure they can follow directions and are prepared for the interaction before signing them up.
