Do you still need to get to the park right as it opens to sign up or is it possible to arrive around noon and still find a slot available????

This would be for a trip in early February.

Thank you!

You need to be there well before rope drop to guarantee a spot a time you want. Showing up at noon, you'll be returning on the hour in hopes someone misses their return time. If Jedi is a must-do, that's no way to do it.

Good to know! I have a friend going and I told her that she needs to flip flop her days so she can be in HS at Rope Drop!

My dd works at JTA...she has told me that there hasn't been one day that they weren't booked up, solid, by 11am...some days by 10!!!

I don't understand why this cannot be put into the fast pass system? The current set up is awful and honestly we were somewhat let down by the training. My son is 7, so he may have been slightly past prime time. He enjoyed it, but I was frankly expecting more. He didn't get to fight Darth Vader and he wasn't on the stage. He was off to the side and fought a new(?) character. I have no idea who it was. That may have made a difference as well. We rope dropped it, and the amount of people was unbelievable. The line was very slow moving due to the fact that there are only 4(?) kiosks and everybody has to work around their already scheduled fast passes and dining plans to find a time that works.

Well the second character (seventh sister) allows them to take twice as many kids.

I do understand that. I didn't know that going in(my own fault) I thought and had told my 7 year old he'd fight DV, so in that respect, it was a bit of a let down. It was still a fun/cool experience, though I doubt we would have spent that much time devoted to it had we known it was a 50/50 chance. I'd say it was over 2 hours total including the show.

I'm guessing in part because they want to see the kids, verify their age, and make sure they are capable of listening and interacting with them before allowing them to sign up for it? At least that's my impression since I know the child participating has to be there in person when they sign up.

All this.

There is also a "skin in the game" factor to it. If they did it via FP, I think the odds of people not coming become higher, leaving open spots and standby management issues. If you were there to sign up, answered the questions, picked a time day of (so you theoretically know your plans for the next 5 hours), you are less likely to flake. Or miss your inter-park bus on a park hopper. Or whatever.

We were there last Friday - at HS for rope drop and were so far back in the queue for Jedi that they told us we would be first on cancellation list. After waiting for almost 2 hours we did get a slot in the 540pm show!! I agree the sign up system needs to be improved - while waiting we were told it would take 40-50 minutes - as I said almost 2 hours later we got to front of queue. Im assuming some people did character breakfasts so they could be in line early? That being said the kids had a great time (both fought 7 sister) and we were given 2 free fast passes for waiting so long and because we missed 1 while in the queue.
