They also are not going to pick "big kids" meaning kids that look older than about 10 or so. They lean heavily towards the 5-7 ages IMO. I don't think they want anyone clobbering Darth![]()
OH NO!!! My 12 year old son has talked about nothing but this since he found out about our Christmas trip. Has ANYONE had an older child picked for Jedi training?
My DS got picked when he had just turned 12 (We were there celebrating his birthday). Our family is petite so he can pass for younger than his age, but I wouldn't say that he looked any younger than 10. There were a few other kids that looked around the same age as him who also got picked. And yes, he did have a sign, and was the 3rd child selected.
Obviously you don't need to have a sign to be picked because if no one has a sign they are still going to pick kids, but it sure does help if you do have one. As hound said, it gives them something to refer to such as "the boy in the blue shirt with the sign" as in my DS's case. And I too have never seen anyone with a sign who didn't get picked. It sure does give you greater odds.
I guess my nephew that flew all the way from MO and I will just stand up at the rope by ourselves.
