Oh i hope this is permanent. My boys will love this when we go in November.

Just read on AllEars.......The Jedi Training Academy, a show usually performed during the annual Star Wars Weekends at the Disney-MGM Studios, is now presented daily beginning yesterday, March 27. Young Jedi Knights are selected at random to be instructed by the Jedi Master on how to use the light saber made popular in the Star Wars movies. Show times, held in front of the Star Tours attraction, are: 10:50 and 11:40 a.m. and 12:40, 1:30, 2:40, 3:10, 4:40, and 5:30 p.m.

now I do not have to go on Star Wars weekend to let my son see this. WOO-HOO!!

Great news! My 7 year old ds would love to do this! For those who have seen it or participated, any thoughts on how to get picked? How early do you have to be there? I suppose wearing his Star Wars t-shirt that day might be a start!

You should get there about 10 minutes or so before showtime so your child can be front and center. Then when they ask for volunteers, have your kid jump up and down, wave their arms, scream....Disney wants excitment and energy.

My 5 yr old recently got into SW. He will love this Do they have any really cool souvieners?? How bad is Star Tours?? Can a 5 yr old (he is 52 ins tall) ride alright? Is it very rough???
PS Should he bring his own lightsaber from home????

Your son should be find to ride Star Tours and it's really not that rough a ride. If you're really concerned, ask a CM to do a "Test flight" where the movie and everything plays normally but the simulator does not move.

Not quite Anyone under 4 will not understand
and any child over 8 or so will find it boring.

A test flight is when you (and anyone else who wants to go) go on Star Tours, just like normal except instead of the simulator moving during the ride, it just stays put. This allows someone who is afraid of motion sickness to be able to see the film and experience the ride without having to worry about motion sickness. When you get to the CM who asks how many in your party, ask him/her to do a test flight. Assuming they're not too busy, they'll set one up for you and your party to ride.

For the first time in Star Wars history they have a speaking female Jedi Master. Her name is Calma-Ray Zaa. She is far better than the other Jedi Masters on all levels, good looking too. Disney MGM studios has about eight shows a day ... children are picked by the amount of "living force" the Jedi Master can detect (almost all the children selected jump up and down waving their arms generally bouncing off their parents with excitement).

We found the show very funny with several inside jokes about bounty hunters and other Star Wars info.

It appears Disney's MGM has several Jedi Masters however the female is the best in our opinion. With eight shows a day you have a 50/50 chance is seeing her show.

After the children complete the training they receive an official certificate. My two "younglings" thought it was the best thing of all the parks. Well done Disney.
