I see a lot of talk of Jedi Training on here, but am looking for a little more detail on it beyond RD strategies, including what makes it great. We saw the Disneyland version a few years ago and weren't too excited by it, though it didn't help my son wasn't lucky enough to be picked. Is the DHS version better? We are moderate Star Wars fans and DS is now 9 and pretty interested. We have a H&V PPO, so sounds like we can sign up easily. Is it worth it? Fun enough for kids to do and parents to watch that it's worth standing out in the sun for a while?

Do the kids have to arrive before the show, or at show time? It takes 20 minutes?

And do the participants get any kind of keepsake?

Trying to figure out if it's worth reworking my existing schedule.

Thanks so much!

It's super fun! Both for the kids and as a parent watching it. We were there in Feb-2 days after the Vador meet and greet switched to Kylo Ren. I totally geeked out when Vador still came out on stage at Jedi training. Not gonna lie.

I want to say we had to arrive 15-20 minutes before our time. At the end they gave out a special pin to all the kids.

There are numerous videos on YouTube if you want to show your DS and see how interested he is. My three kids all loved it, even though it was hot (especially with the Jedi robes on). I don't remember them getting a pin. If you have Memory Maker you will get lots of pictures too. I think we had 8-10 of each kid plus the wider group shots.

My daughter loved it. We showed up 15 minutes before the show. It was the highlight of my 6 year olds trip.

This is a must for our kids (9 and 5) every trip !! Did it today --- showed up at park today at 9am, and they were signed up for 1:40 show

Do any of the experts on here know which line fights Darth Vader, and which one fights Seventh Sister? My kids aren't interesting in fighting Seventh Sister at all, so hoping to increase my odds that they get Vader.

Any thoughts (oh, wise ones) on how old is too old to do this? What's the usually age range of the kids?

My son will be 3 months away from being 12 years old when we go next spring, and he's pretty big for his age (people stopped handing us kids menus at restaurants when he was still 10.5). He is a big Star Wars fan, but he won't want to do it if it is all "little kids."

When you arrive to the meeting place beforehand, there are circles in 2 lines, one for each child to stand on and that is where they get their robes. The outer line, the one closest to the lake, fights Darth Vader. We just did it in May and we did get a card from a photographer to download the pics from the performance, and my daughter got a pin souvenir. There was a wide range of ages of kids from kindergarten on up. My daughter was one of the oldest/tallest at 9 years old (one of a few at our time). She loved it and I think would probably do it again the next time we go. The show itself I thought was pretty cool to watch--the kids in the audience even got into it with helping to use the force to banish Kylo Ren away. From the time she got in line until the show was over was about 50 minutes total (20 minutes of actual show).

We wanted our kids to do it in Oct when we were there. Ages 5,9,12. ...but they had it shut down for referb. Now when we come back in Dec my oldest son will be turning 14 on our arrival date. So..he will not get to do it. ;/

Youngest son is dying to do this for the first time this December. How early should we plan on arriving at HS to be pretty sure we could get signed up? Hoping to get signed up for as early a show as possible.
