Jedi Training Academy Sign Up!!

Why should eating breakfast in an air conditioned building give you the right to be in the front of a line for JTA? The way I see it, you were entertained for an hour while others stood in line. It's not like Disney advertises that the ADR gives you first in line access. And there is precedence for this, Fantasmic Dinner package comes to mind. Just my 2 cents.
Because I seriously doubt these people were waiting in the RD line outside of Hollywood Studios at 7:30 or 7:45 in the morning when the park doesn't even open until 9 am. Some people with prepark opening ADRs tend to get to the parks at 7:30 am. If someone was actually waiting at the front gates this early to get into HS to sign up for Jedi Training at 7:40 without an early BF, then I can see your reasoning, but I highly doubt many of these people are waiting this long while diners are "being entertained." Plus, these people with early ADRs had the foresight to plan accordingly since historically this is how JTA has typically worked. Not trying to get into a huge debate. We've actually never even done Jedi Training. I just don't get why people with prepark BFs should be penalized for JTA sign-ups when they physically cannot wait in the RD line. Just doesn't seem fair...

If they change up characters and use a Rebels villain, that will free up Vader for meet and greets. Interesting!

Thanks for sharing, we are hoping for our 4 yo son to take part in Jedi training when we visit this week.

We are trying to do this for the first time as part of a birthday trip. Going on an extra magic morning. Any tips?

Be at the gates 20-30 minutes before the EMH opening time.
When they open the park, head directly to the JTA sign-up area at the former "Sounds Dangerous" building.

You'll be just fine.

We did this on the 15th. It was an EMH morning, so we probably got there around 7:30. There was a CM holding a Jedi Training sign and we were directed to the left (in between the breakfast ADR line and the regular lines). We were let in around 7:45/7:50 an everyone walked in a nice, calm line to the sign up. It was great.

There was a decent number of people ahead of us, but DS got into the second show with no problems. Such a fun experience for the kids!

The following was posted on the new SWW thread by @yulilin3 just yesterday, I believe:

Please treat this as a RUMOR until Disney officially announces:
JTA will go down October 4th to prepare for the new Rebels show. Rebels show will begin rehearsal. Unsure at this time if when it opens up again (which will be before the movie comes out) if it will be the same JTA format or something completely different.

Just be aware that is appears JTA may not be available in October-November. You may want to follow the SWW thread as yulilin will probably post more info.

Plus, Vader is slated to be the main character at the new Disney Chase Visa meet and greets.

Where is this supposed to be held? And do you have any idea when?

If that's true, we'll just beat the cut off. We come home from our trip on October 4th!

The Disney Visa meet and greet will probably be in the new Launch Bay area (old Animation Building). No one appears to know exactly when that opens but yulilin did post that auditions for character performers are scheduled to happen soon. You may want to follow her SWW thread as she posts new info as soon as it's reported.

Good timing on your trip!

My 6 year old is going to be so bummed. This was such a huge deal for him :(

man I really hope not! after baymax leaving, art of animation closing.. now there will not be Jedi academy for the trip.. I Will really reallu upset. we where goiong to HS on november 2 to celebrate my 8 years old birthday with baymax and got H and V 8 ADR just to be sure to make it to jedi academy.. If that doesn't happen, I'm sure my son gonna cry alot.. all the special things he is waiting to do for is birthday will not happen

This is devastwting. The main reason we waited until October was so my son be old enough for JTA. I actually don't know if I still want to go to Disney, that's how sad this makes us. It was supposed to be the highlight of our trip.

This was also the biggest reason we were going to Disney - our son is 7 and we weren't sure if we waited a year, he'd still be so into Star Wars. I really hope they can keep this going in some fashion or we will be really disappointed! But they didn't take Ana and Elsa away when they were finding a home for them, so maybe they'll keep this somehow!

I've been following yulilin's SWW threads for a few years now. When she posts information/rumors that include a date, it's a sure sign that the rumor she is reporting will become a definite announcement by Disney.

Sadly, based on yulilin's post, JTA closing on the 4th is a very real bit of info.
