Jedi Training Academy Closing Sept 12?

This people, was my entire point. People were jumping to crazy conclusions due to lack of knowledge. Suddenly everyone knows a CM that knows for sure it is closing and going away forever, when the reality is it is a temporary shut down while they change up the show. That is a totally different scenario than disney quietly shuttering an attraction without making any announcements.

For those guests going during the closure, do you think they really care that it's reopening at some later date? It's our vacations, and our vacation planning, that is affected.

Any attraction should be closed at any time you go for any number of reasons. Its just one of the things that you have to factor in when planning a trip to any theme/amusement park. Thankfully, with 4 parks right there finding something to do is never an issue.

This comment is so not helpful. Luckily, Disney's Guest Relations is more understanding than you. When I emailed them to complain about the closure, at least the person I talked to was apologetic. Luckily, Guest Relations didn't just say "Too bad, so sad, you know nothing is guaranteed to be open."

What do you want? The point of this whole thread isn't to be helpful, the point of it was for people to give news on the closing and opinions on it. My opinion is it is no big deal because there is plenty of other stuff to do.

Why complain about something being closed? Wouldn't you like things to be updated and made better?

the complain is more about the fact that they give the information not far enough in advance.. Sure there something else to do, sure the rides can close for any reason any time, but when they know something gonna be close, they should tell people because was it not a big thing for someone can be a very big thing for another, let,s say JTA main reason I when to Disney, knowing that in advance, I would Schedule my plan during last week of september

I complained because my children are disappointed and I wanted Disney to know the negative affect this has on our vacation and also on our decision whether to visit Disney again in the future. And maybe it was all BS, but the Guest Relations person I spoke to said that Disney was particularly interested in guest feedback about Star Wars in general.

I personally don't believe that replacing Vader with the Inquisitor will make JTA "better." I also believe that with a little advance planning, they could have avoided closing JTA at all, and instead could have held it in an alternative location (like the Premier Theatre, which is now empty) while the stage work is completed. I also believe that as a small, tiny little concession to the kids who won't get to do JTA while the stage work is being performed they at least could have set up a Vader M&G during the closure, instead of offering nothing in way of a replacement.

If there is only one reason that you are going to Disney, I think it is a waste of money IMO. That being said, I don't think they want to announce dates too far ahead of time, because the dates could change. What if the permit didn't come through on time, or the construction crew was tied up on another project, etc. Like most companies, they are not going to make an announcement about something until they are sure that it is happening.

Maybe Disney didn't know until a certain time the official dates That it would take place.

Again, if one attraction is key to whether or not you are going to Disney or are going to go back, then I wouldn't be going to Disney. I think most kids are going to like having characters from the Rebels because it is more for their generation, and no one has said that Darth was for sure going to be gone. All that being said, I am sure that there are a lot of alternative things that they could have done, I am also sure that there are reasons that they are not. We do not run the Disney business. They make the decisions and we go with them. If you don't like it, don't go.

One attraction being closed decides whether or not you continue to go to Disney in the future? If anything it would make me want to go back to experience the new version of it. Disney says in their terms and conditions that they have to right to close down the attractions at any time without notice.

Disney does nothing to rides and attractions then people complain that they are old and outdated. Disney does something and then people complain that it isn't open.

This is one of the biggest problems that I have with some of the posts here and else where. People complain and complain that nothing ever changes or gets updated, but then when Disney closes something down so that it can be updated, they get mad that it is closing.

Its just like home owners. Everyone wants more opportunities for jobs, growth, etc., in their community, just as long as they don't have to see the construction or deal with the traffic. Most people will be thrilled that JTA is getting a make over, as long as it isn't done during their vacation.

when people complain about how difficult it is to get ADR, it's ok, when people complain about how difficult it is to get A&E FP..it'S ok, when people complain about the few availibility of free dining..it's ok, when people complain about how bad was the first MNSSHP, it's ok, But when I complain about the fact that I found it disappointed that Disney only tell few days in advance a big closure like that I receive , Well just dont go.. I think it's really sad

My point was there were a ton of posts stating people knew exactly what was happening because a CM told them, or a CM got told to clean out their locker. And my stance was, wait for an official announcement. In the end we find out its a short refurb. Which is totally not the same thing as saying Jedi Academy is closing and CM's have been reassigned, which is only half the story but sounds final.

Whether it affects your particular vacation or not is no excuse for hyperbole.

1. ADRs and FP+s: Most of the complaints I have seen on these are people that did not book them as soon as they could. Thats fine, that is your choice. But it is your choice, and you have to live with the consequences. So no, I generally don't think that is ok.

2. Availability of Free Dining: People complain about this? Haven't seen it, but I also don't think it is something people should complain about. Its a promo, if you don't get it, either pay for dining or don't go.

3. MNSSHP: I have no interest in this and so have never read the posts and don't know if the complaints are legit or not.

OK according to who? Many folks, including myself, have shot back at many of those complaints as well.

I don't think the general tone of the thread was "too bad, too sad". rather, I saw chicken little panic and a lot of misinformed folks speaking towards the future (or lack thereof) of the ride in absolutes. While it is a total shame the ride won't be open during your trip, it is important to note that it will re-open.

Whats silly is when I point out that there was all this misinformation and the response is, "oh yea, well it doesn't do ME any good". This board is about Disney in general. Not any one person's particular vacation =). (And no, I wasn't referring to you cath1979).

I don't think anyone said it was closing forever... I think everyone was under the assumption it would be down for a couple of months, but didn't know when or why for sure.
