Jedi Training Academy and Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Tutorial

At one time, you had to arrive at HS at rope drop and rush to the star tours area to sign up for Jedi Training Academy. Is this still true? Do they have FP+ for it?

Also the last time I saw it, there was no need to sign up early for Captain Jack Sparrow's -- just be there. Is this still true?

There is no FP+ for JTA. You still need to sign up for it at RD.

For the pirate tutorial there is no sign up process. You just go and watch and hope to be picked.

Does this hold true for all times of the show? I'm currently planning on heading there at rope drop one day during our trip in September (crowd level 1-2) to sign two kids up for a mid-late morning show. However, I'm considering changing plans to make that a late arrival day 2:30-3 pm) and stay through Fantasmic. Do you still need to sign up at rope drop for JTA for the shows at 7:10 or 8:00?

Definitely. Typically, all shows are filled in the first hour the park is open. At a slower time, it might be closer to 10:30 or 11:00 before all slots are filled, but there will not be anything available that late in the day.

We went first week of June last year, by 30 minutes after RD the line had sufficient guests in line to fill all time slots.
