My ds will want to do this when we go early October. I've got some questions:
  • I think I read that you need to queue at 10.30 for a timeslot - does my ds need to be with me or can I just queue myself?
  • I assume you'll be given a time slot to go back and probably need to be there earlier, does and adult need to stay with the kids at all times, ie backstage, if you know what I mean?
  • Should I take a passport as proof of ds age? He is 11 but very tall and in clothes for age 13
  • Any other tips?

Yes to all of those is the short answer.

He will have to be with you to register and an adult will need to be there during the training session.

If he looks older than 11 take then it would be s good idea to take his passport with you.

Thanks - I plan on doing this on our first day so that we can try again the next if we don't get a slot.

When my nephew did this a few weeks ago they started to hand the time slots out at 10am. Then the doors opened for registration at 10:45am.

Will they be doing this over christmas do you know..? I am there 23rd - 26th Dec...

I need to embroidery some new shirts for our trip on the 27-28th. I plan to wear the death star and my son the AT Walker. Then I was going to put out Jedi Academy on the top and our names under. We are so looking forward to him training again and being a padawan.
