We have ressies at Yachtsman Steakhouse, California Grille, and Boathouse. Are jeans and sneakers ok for men and teen boys to wear? I don't want to have to bring extra shoes if I don't have to.

Hope this helps!

There are a few restaurants that have slightly more stringent dress requirements. These are the Signature (Fine) Dining restaurants that are located outside of the theme parks, including:

Artist Point, Wilderness Lodge Resort
California Grill, Contemporary Resort
Citricos, Grand Floridian Resort
Flying Fish, Boardwalk Resort
Il Molino New York Trattoria, Swan Resort
Jiko, Animal Kingdom Resort
Narcoossee’s. Grand Floridian Resort
Shula’s Steakhouse, Dolphin Resort
Todd English’s bluezoon, Dolphin Resort
Yachtsman Steakhouse, Yacht Club Resort

The official dress code for these restaurants states:

“Men: Khakis, slacks, jeans, dress shorts, collared shirts. Sport coats are optional.

Sneakers are allowed. I don't believe the Boathouse has a dress code

Yes

I'd say for Cali Grill and Yachtsman, yes, as long as the jeans are nice and paired with a nice shirt (polo, button up, etc.) and the sneakers aren't dirty and in bad shape. IMO, I'd rather my sons and husband wear a nice pair of flip flops than athletic sneakers to both establishments, which are very easy to pack, but might not be weather appropriate depending on when you're going. FWIW, you will see "violators" of the dress code in both establishments, as well as people who have really dressed up. It's kind of like church.

The Boathouse is casual.

The only restaurant on property where jeans are not permitted is V&A. Anywhere else you are good to go.

Unless your Reservation is for Victoria&Alberts jeans are fine anywhere.

I absolutely agree. Sneakers with jeans doesn't look right at a nice restaurant. Although that may be personal preference. Weather permitting nice shorts and a golf shirt would work.

:-) I'm certain this does not apply to any of the men in your life, but all I can think of now is trying to eat while the gentleman sitting beside me is brandishing his hairy toes and yellow nails for the world to see!!! Boat Shoes or Penny Loafers Please!!!

I'm always kind of amazed and disgusted by what I sometimes see in the nicer places. Dirty jeans with a Disney t-shirt, flip flops. Not appropriate in my opinion.
Cargo shorts, tank tops. I'm not sure some people get that dressing nicely can really enhance the experience.

Back on topic - good looking jeans (not the ones where the tears are considered "nice") are fine. Sneakers are fine.

I also have opinions on flip flops but that's not the question the OP was asking.

DH takes his black sneakers so he can wear them in the park and for going out to eat. Much better than the bright colors on some of them.

Who's experience is enhanced yours or mine because my experience is not enhanced by wearing nicer clothes it is enhanced when I am comfortable
