Last year my MIL bought everyone else a christmas present... but me.

I hope you are not serious? While I think it is absurd to read the threads as some sort of attack on her mother in law, I think it is really over the top to go "tattle" on someone who disagrees with that and posts their opinion. Just ignore it--don't take up the moderators' time with complaints about little comments you just don't agree with or like (gosh I only remember having ever reported blatant ads and one threads which had a link to a photo album which included homemade porn--differences of opinion I think are natural and expected and not anything to try to get anyone in trouble over).PLEASE POST IT-I keep looking for it too. I think we can all vow to report any nasty posts to the Moderators so you don't have to deal with the nasties.

That would hurt my feelings. I am sorry. This happened to me one year. My MIL bought my 3 SILs beautiful Arthur Court oval baskets in the lovely grape design. The pattern that I just happened to collect. I couldn't help but notice that all 3 SILs received a basket. Everyone but me. I commented about what a beautiful gift that each received, thinking maybe mine wasn't under the tree or had been misplaced. MIL immediately says, "I could only find 3 of those and I knew YOU would understand if I didn't get you one."![]()
that is even worse--buying the PERFECT thing for you for everyone else and leaving you out. I'm sorry. You must have been really hurt.

I got this from DS15 when he was 6 or 7 or so. I am still not quite sure what it is supposed to be if it is just a Christmas decoration or a candy dish or what. They used to have a secret Santa shop in our old town where volunteers would take kids through their "store" and help them pick out and wrap presents for their parents. I LOVED to see what the kids got us each year. This was one of them:

DS is getting this for a wedding present some day![]()
ITA - it isn't Christmas without her. It has become a favorite tradition of mine.
Well, that's a shame. JeaFL has always come across as a classy lady, not one to offend or derogate others. I never saw malice in what she posted about the gifts. I hope she'll post this year.![]()
I never saw them as insulting. It was always in good fun.
olena, Thanks for finding and posting those other gift threads as well.
Does anyone have the orginal thread? The one where Jill received the hammer to carry in her car in case of an emergency?

and he said 'I thought you would like them! They are from Williams Sonoma!"
