I have been watching airfare for weeks now and it just kept going up so I just found some I was kinda happy with that had not changed much lately and bought them. I got me and hubby an overnight flight from Portland Oregon to MCO for $225 a piece on Jet Blue. Then I got us flights on SW for the flight home for $216. We went with the Jet blue flight there so we can fly over night and have the whole day there free to just relax and maybe hit downtown Disney. Plus we get 1 suitcase each with our flight and all kinds of snacks, pop, internet, and tv!! Just thought it would be fun to start the trip. Then on the way home if we get some souveniers we get 2 suitcases each on the way home. :) I hope we did good everyone at my work says we got awesome deals.

It's a great deal if you're happy with it. You can go 'round and 'round over airfare. You have to reach a point where you're satisfied with the flights & prices and just pull the trigger. Spending over $400 pp to go to Orlando would make me go :scared1:! However, I'm already on the East Coast and I can find cheap flights for almost any day of the week.

I think we paid $406 per person round trip from LAX. We, too, are doing a red eye. We got the EXACT flights we wanted for both legs of the flight. We probably could have gotten our fights for about $375 if we went with whatever times OR even cheaper if we went with Spirit. But, I'm picky with my flights (times and stops)and certainly didn't want to fly Spirit.

I think anything under $450 is ok. Of course you're coming from PDX so I'm not sure if there's a difference of cost. Under $400 and you've scored (if flying from West Coast). You say you get a free bag (for your JB flight), did you buy the second tier price? I know they charge for bags now unless you buy the second tier price.

I hate red eyes, so that wouldn't be my choice of a good flight. You are going to be pretty tired the next day.

You didn't say when are traveling, but for this fall, but fares between the east and west coast on most airlines are running around $400 for a round trip.

I agree with the above poster, check your JetBlue fare; you might not be getting a free checked bag.

I'm assuming they've done a red eye before. If not, it'll be a learning experience! We have almost always done red eyes out of about half a dozen trips to the east coast. We just make time after lunch for a 2 hour nap or so. We enjoy having an entire day to get to do things vs. wasting an entire day by getting in at 4/5 and to the hotel at 6/7.

It works for our family!

We also got the perfect flights I was looking for for both directions. That is what made me decide to just get them. We could have gone with a few cheaper airlines or flights but it I was being picky on who we flew with and when. :)

We did get the second tier price. It was only 15 more for the luggage to be included which was still cheaper than others at $25 more.

We did a red eye the last time we went and loved it! We are flying in January. I did book the second tier for $15 more to get the luggage added for each of us.

The funny part is that the last trip and this trip we decided to go to Florida because it is actually cheaper to go to Florida than it was to go to California for the whole trip. The airfare is really not much different going cross country than it is just hopping down a state. It is ridiculous!!
