Jay-nee's journal

Well, I just did my WI - nothing lost, nothing gained! I'm ok with that (especially the nothing gained, huh? :teeth: )!

Well, I just joined the 60 day Xmas challenge. I am going to exercise 20 minutes a day (minimum) everyday between now and Xmas. I really need to make exercise a habit again. I really love to exercise, but it seems that it is the 1st thing to go when things get busy.

And, boy, things have been busy! But, for the most part, a good busy. I did some Xmas shopping on Sunday (me, and it seemed, everyone else too!). But, I probably got more than 1/2 of it done and I really need to get a jump on things this year, it will help my budget alot more that way!

My DM is coming to stay with us for 6+ weeks from 11/11 through Xmas (it will probably be more than 6 weeks after all is said and done, but we'll just play it day-to-day). She is having knee replacement surgery. She is coming with her 3 dogs and her parrot too. It's going to be crazy busy for me. Thankfully, for our budget, she will help out with groceries and give me a little money for taking care of her pets too.

I hope I can do this. I just hope it doesn't stress me out too much. I really need to keep the kids on a good path (yep, they're doing great!) and I don't want to mess that up, especially right now. Right now, they need things to be consistent. And, the kids are my primary focus.

Well, speaking of which, the school day is about to start, so I better jet.

Happy Tuesday to all! :sunny: :sunny:

I officially exercised yesterday! 20 minutes on my bike. Thank God my DS reminded me.

Is anyone else sick of the rain that we are having here in the NE? It's insane! I think we've gotten something like 11+ inches of rain so far this month. Crazy! I want some more warmth before dreaded winter comes.

My eating has been ok. I really just want to focus my goals on my exercise, everything else will fall into place after that.

This Friday is the famous bi-annual Chicken Pie dinner at one of the local churches. The kids and I can't wait. This will be our 4th one, they are so good! It's our splurge for this month (we only get 1 a month and it has to be under $20). Can't wait...

Happy Wednesday! :sunny:

Congradulations on not gaining and exercising.

I agree with you about the rain. It finally stopped for a while today. It could be worse, the counties south of me had a snow day today. They are calling for wet snow mixed with rain for here tonight.

Keep up the good work ahd have a great eventing.

Jaynee--im so glad your son reminded you to exercise,,can i borrow him?! haha...

Glad to see you check in. I hope all goes well with your DM's surgery. That will be nice having her there I'm sure. And she'll be happy to be there after the surgery as well.

Good job on you keeping up with the exercise and doing the challenge. I'm know you can do this!!!!!

Keep on
Chris

Hi Jaynee--hope your day went good today--did you get any exercising in?? I decided that i may go to the dr tomorrow, but next week, im completely in :)

Thanks so much for stopping by my journal to check up on me!

Yep, I exercised 3 days in a row now! I am so excited and I actually wanted to get on my bike last night! That is a HUGE step in the right direction for me. It helps me when the weather keep me indoors. For most people, it works the opposite.

As far as eating, I have been a PIG lately. I am drawn to food so much. Each year around Halloween I get like this. I hate it! And, it's not even candy, it's anything! argh... I will work on this... Hopefully, the biking will somewhat offset the over eating too. I can only hope... I'm dreading the candy the kids will bring home after trick-or-treating!

Today is the Chicken Pie Dinner and I can't wait. Honestly, this is such a big deal for me and the kids. I miss eating out but we just can't afford it. We never ate out alot, but it was nice to know we could. Now I know we can't and it drives me crazy (sometimes). Oh well, as long as I can stay PT at work, I am not complaining, just venting a bit...

Happy Friday everyone! :sunny: :sunny:

vent away!! it is awesome that you exercised 3 days in a row--im so proud!! im starting monday again...stomach pains a ton better!!

Actually, 4 days in a row now exercising. I am trying to keep the momentum going, especially since I feel like I eat constantly. argh...

We went to the Chicken Pie Dinner last night. Oh, so yummy! They are only doing 1 a year now starting in 2006, so we are bummed. They are fun. We always go early and eat with the retirees. My kids are the only kids at our table usually, it's fun. They always make sure my DS gets plenty to eat! ;) He's almost 6 feet tall and just turned 15 yrs old, it never fails that some older gentleman is worried about DS eating enough - like that's a problem! :)

After Halloween, I will stop eating after dinner. That is such a bad habit and I need to stop it. DM down for 6 weeks won't help, but since she can't drive, she will be limited to what we have on hand anyway! Good for her, the kids, and especially me! I know the Dr will talk to her about her weight too, so it will be a good start-up plan for her. (she'll hate me for this :guilty: but I have to do it for all of us)

Well, today I think I am going to do my fall barn cleaning - yuck! - but it has to be done. Anyone want a pony? I'm seriously thinking about finding her a new home. I figured out that she costs us approximately $1300 a year to keep her, I really don't have that kind of money. Oh, well, not today's problem...

Happy Saturday! :sunny: :sunny:

your doing great!!!!!!!!!! even though you are busy, you are making time to do all the working out and that is great :)

Add another day to my exercise total. Yep, I dragged myself down to my bike last evening. I really didn't feel like it but I need to get back into my routine.

Yesterday, I gave our dog a bath. God, I hate doing that to him, he looks so pitiful. But, he looks so good after! And, so happy! He runs around the house like he's the man! What a hoot! Plus, his shampoo smells like coconuts, so he smells so good! That was a huge thing to cross of my list of "to do."

My DB is buying a house just outside of Dallas so I hope to go with the kids to visit him next year. That's something to look forward to. I need things to look forward to, it keeps me going. It's hard because there is so much on my shoulders now that I am "officially" a single mom. I kind of always was, but now it's truly 24/7. I try really hard not to focus on worrying about money and the future, but it's hard. Our lives are going to be so different and I think 90% of it is for the better, but I really won't know until they are alot older. One day at a time for now...

So, I never did get the barn cleaned out yesterday, so today that is the plan. blech... No takers on the pony yet, eh? ;) I feel badly even saying that, she's such a love. The problem is the barn takes me away from doing other stuff now.

Well, better get to it.

Happy Sunday all! :sunny:

:grouphug: great job on the workout!

I hope you do get down to Dallas to visit there's so much to see and do! Totally great place in my opinion (love fort worth more but dallas is great)

Pony wise we don't have room but there was somebody on the community board yesterday who was really sad because their foster pony (well pony that was on loan) was going back to it's real home today. :flower:

jaynee--you are doing great..im going to have to work out like crazy to keep up with you!!!!
Did you get that barn cleaned yet?!?! your a busy busy woman!!

have a great week, ill "talk" to you tomorrow!!

Way to go on the exercising!!!! Great job!

Keep your chin up - one day at a time indeed. I have been a single parent and it's hard (almost since the time she was born even though I was married at the time) but just think of the true reward - your kids!!!!! That was the only thing that ever kept me going. I had my daughter and she was an awesome kid (and still is) and that was worth it enough. I've struggled a lot with money (and still do even though I'm remarried but I have a hard time leaning on my husband for money when it relates to my daughter because she's not his - I know, something I need to get over but that's just how I am - I am getting better but it's hard) and there were many times I went without items so she could have something or so we could do something special once in a while. I would wear pants that had holes in the crotch in order for her to have something she needed. I'd go without lunch if she needed the night befores leftovers for her lunch. But the thing that has always kept me going is that I totally love her and she's my life. I would never trade that for anything!!!!!

HUGS jay-nee - keep up the good work.

Keep on
Chris

First of all, that you all for your encouragement! (Jen - thanks for checking on me each day too!). You guys are so cool.

Yep, I've exercised each day since Jen and I started this program! 7 days now.

Now, yesterday... hmmm, I decided to go crazy and eat as much candy as I wanted. Yeah, stupid... but, fun all the less! I haven't eaten alot of junk food in sooooo long. I hope I got it out of my system so that now I can focus on getting back on my journey.

Today was WI day, thankfully, I'm still at 152.5! WAHOO! But, I really want to get down to 145-ish for good and hover around there for life... But, I need to make exercise one of my daily priorities and, thankfully, I'm doing that again.

Chris - thanks for the kind words, it's nice to know that I'm not alone. All of my friends (much younger) are still married so I feel like a loner. It's okay, I think it makes them more uncomfortable than me. ;)

gradtchr - I'll have to check out that community board and find out who the people are who miss their "loaned" pony, you just never know, huh? I would miss little Dunn so much, but it's just too much for me given everything else in our lives here. Thanks for giving me the info though... :flower:

Well, speaking of the pony, I've gotta get out there and feed her. Otherwise, she'll start to whinny. :)

:grouphug: to all. Happy Tuesday! :sunny: :sunny:
