Jay and Tracie's Wishes Wedding PJ 01/06/12...3-12..TR, Disney Day 2, pt 2

I live roughly 30 to 45 minutes from the World so I'm over there constantly. In fact I was just there walking dtd on Tuesday, and was park hopping the previous Friday.

Perhaps when y'all come down we can meet. I'm not sure of an exact date my soldier gets home from deployment, but since we live here we'll be available almost any time.

If you'd like we can meet on the 4th or 5th and we can give you any pointers we learn from our experience on the 3rd. :D We'll be leaving for our disney cruise honeymoon either the 6th or 7th.

I too have started to get the DIY stuff together so that in December I can really get down to the nitty gritty

The 4th would prolly be the best day as the 5th is our rehearsal and groom/bride events in the afternoon. The 4th will mainly be dropping stuff off around the resort and relaxin for us.

I love you times guides, they are awesome! I wish I was a little more creative with mine. I am just finishing up our welcome newsletter and time information for our guests! It's crazy how many little things there left to do at the end.

Thanks, Took a while to figure out how I wanted to do them. Powerpoint can be very easy or very difficult. But im glad they turned out how they did. Not gonna get em exactly like the real ones, but id say its close. Im glad I have so many DIY stuff to do. keeps me busy I guess, though a lot of it is gonna be gettin done when we get to fl in december.


So I have some updates to do, but im gonna save it for another post tomorrow or so. Mainly posting tonight because 10-16 is trace and mine anniversary of when we started dating. this year will be our 9th year together. Heres a story of how it began..

Not much goin on really. Guest count should be set round 77. If anything it will go down from there.

Started getting a couple of our registry items. Got a nice vase and china from Macys.

Had a phone conference with Meri about a week ago to discuss some changes to the BEO to get some costs down. That went well and we will here from her again in Nov. Although we can always get in-contact through email. Talked about removing some dinner options to get that cost down. we will have to see if that majorly affects anything. Also waiting on an email back from Heather(our floral coordinator) on BEO updates that will drastically take some costs down as well because we are taking out or reducing the ceremony decor. Excited to get that whenever it comes in, Hopefully this week.

Changed up our place cards a bit. Still keeping the Vinyl table names, but got rid of the mickey heads on them. We replaced them with our emblem over a teal background. Suits our colors better and it goes better with the new decor that we will be having.

Considering doing Personalized M and M's for some favors. Only thing is if we want to get the pouches and stuff all from online, or get the bulk bags and make our own tins and stuff. Also might check to see how much the chocolate mickey head favors are. If they are more cost effective might consider those instead. Anybody do either of these? Which one did you do? What was your costs?

Started making a list of things that we still need to purchase(ketubah, Marriage liscence) and things we need to make in dec when we get to FL(welcome bag items, etc). lets just say that Im glad that the list is shorter on the purchase side now...:banana::banana:

We are also doing a signature drink now. Its included with the bar packages so we figured why not. Its the blue martini..though its gonna be more teal. I think its the same one as the glowtini. Oh BT Dubs...anyone know how much they will charge you for glow cubes. like if we wanted to include them in the drinks and such? We named it "Good Idea Bear"..ha..ha....your prolly like that doesnt make sense for a name of a drink....lol..Well if you watch How I met Your Mother...we are huge fans....A season or 2 ago Sarah chalke was playing Teds(main character) girlfriend/fiance. He found out that she had never seen Star Wars and made her watch it. although she said she liked it...she hated it and didnt get how everyone understood what chewbacca was saying. She calls him a bear and says..."(moans)..thats a good point bear..lets try that"...well long story short..Trace and I took that and made "bear" one of our pet names for each other and whenever we have ideas or suggestions about stuff well say good idea bear...lol....so that the name of our drink.:banana::banana:

The chocolate mickey heads are $6.00/pp--- although that is with personalization, so they may be a bit less if you don't get your guests' names on them. If you want to keep costs down, I definitely suggest doing the m and m's in bulk and buying your own tins--- you can get 30 tins at Michael's with a 40% off coupon for about $12. :D

Thanks...the drink we chose is actually the famous Glowtini that is found around the resort..minus the glow part. Though since we are having a night reception I think it would be cool to have them. Just dont know if they can be added or at what cost. I know not everyone is going to have a drink so I dont want to pay a bulk price, I just was gonna get some to have on hand. I guess ill send Meri an email...lol


So lets see....we sent out letters to those guests that said they were attending to notify them of the time and reception change. We said if it affects any of their plans for attending to please notify us. Well no changes at the moment.....which is great. As much as im dreadding the fact that we have almost 80 people coming(mianly for cost reasons)...im also really excited at the same time. I cant imagine thinking how much fun everyone is going to have.

In some good news my mom finally got her rooms switched from BC villas to BW villas. she has been on a waiting list since June and she got an email that it was switched the other day. Yay now all the imediate family will all be at Boardwalk. Only thing is that they will be on the DVC side and well be on the Inn side...which I have never stayed at...how does the Inn side compare to the DVC side?

We should be ordering our Ketubah this week hopefully...with that being done we really have only a couple other things to actually buy for the wedding. Only other things is the marriage liscence, glass to step on at the end of the ceremony, and our toasting flutes. Everything else we will be making once we get home....so i guess we have to buy a lot of paper and copy services as well..lol


well thats it for now....another 7-4 day tomorrow and then 2 days off woooo!!! Have a safe flight out to Cali mom, dad, and grandparents. Its parents weekend at USC and they are visiting my sister and going to the game on saturday to see her play in the trojan marching band...FIGHT ON FOR SC woooo!!!!

Hey everyone...I know its been a while...which is unusual for me but not a lot has happened since our last update.

I guess the exciting thing today is that we have 2 months untill the big day!!!!:banana::banana:and then only 44 days till were back in Florida:banana::banana:YAY!!!!!!!!!!

We ordered our Ketubah last weekend. Was a little more expensive than we wanted, but we just loved the design and the other ones we looked at couldnt compare after lookin around a bit.

For those of you who dont know what a Ketubah is, it is a wedding contract in the Jewish religion similar to a marriage liscence. It has more meaning and history to it though. You can get whatever text you would like to match your religious beliefs and they are usually considered works of art. It is the wifes responsibility look after and take care of the document(basically by hanging it in the bedroom nowadays...lol)
We did ours as an interfaith text since we both are not very religious. Should be at my house in FL in a couple of weeks...

Got some other BEOs from our Meri and Heather over the week. Reduced some cost down. We took out 2 of the items during cocktail hour and are just goin with the antipasta display. That took the food down to just over 8000 instead of 10000 something. Still dont have floral exactly where we want it mainly cause we havent 100 percent decided on what ceremony decor and centerpieces were doin, but I know that it will be finalized by the end of the month that way we can get a better estimate on the amount that will be due at the 30 day mark.

We were at the mall last week picking up some new dolls(vinyls) for our collection...actua;lly got the chaser from the villians 2 series on the first try:banana::banana:...lol....ok anyways we were walking around and Trace saw something teal in a window. Well that teal item ended up being her wedding shoes...WOOOOO....she got them at Charlette Russe and they were only $30. Aparently she just has to add some inserts(zebra printed as well). She said they were very comfy. we were so happy. I dont know if she plans on writing on them or bedazzlin them at all...I guess well see. Heres a pic....

Dont know if she plans on changin shoes for the reception. But we were lookin at some create your own converse on the website. The groomsman and I are wearin patent converse. Basically they look like shiny dress shoes..except there converse. SOOO we were lookin at these guys for her...

Got a month left for our friends to decide if they are staying on property to get a discount. Ive only heard from a couple of them that they already booked at POP...bridal party peeeps so yay....gonna make some calls today/this week.

I saw that Fantasmic is gonna go into rehab during our wedding so I thought we would go see it on the last night that its operating which is the first night were in the world. Just dont know cause I think my mom wanted to plan a welcome dinner that night which might interrupt that. I think fantasmic is at 6:30 so maybe we could have the party at like 8/9 I no no...well see...just an idea at the moment.

My mom had told me that some of our family tried to book some rooms(a month out mind you) at pop and was told that the resort was booked solid for the dates they wanted. Soooo weve been telling our friends for months that they need to book their rooms by dec 7th to get the discount rates and now cause they waited it looks like they wont be able to get pop. I understand the reason why some of them waited as we are all strapped for money these days, but I hope that they are able to still enjoy staying on property.

the 4 options that we see for them are
1. Book another resort from the block...BW or CBR
2. Call and try to see if thell allow our block discount at one of the all stars
3. Book another resort with another or no discount
4. Stay off property


Im sure wherever our guests/friends end up it will be fine and our experience will be great. It was just a tad stressfull to hear that one of the resorts was booked solid and we still have a couple friends that are in the wedding party(3 of them that dont have rooms yet). soooooo that could put some stress on ya.

We started gettin some registry items in and I dont think I have seen Trace as excited about this much stuff in a long time. Her favorite so far..lol...is the ice tea maker..though I know she is desperately waiting for the kuerig one cup coffee maker....My fav is our new mickey toaster!!!!

Trace is goin home for thanksgiving and I am staying up here. Shes doin some dress fittings and other stuff. I work in retail so of course I cant leave cause Im workin Black Friday...be thankfull non retail people for us retail people that have to work this crappy day. Someday Ill be teaching and will have fond memories of these days....:thumbsup2. Anyways, this will be the first thanksgiving that Trace and I are apart in a long time so I hope it wont be too difficult. well skype or somethin. Im excited for her to do dress stuff though, whatever it looks like.

well I think thats it for now...Meris on vacation so we should be doing a phone conference after thankgiving sometime before our final payment is due. Im sure her and all the other DFTW staff had a great 11-11-11 with those 11 brides!!!!

It's frustrating because you can't really control what they do, you can only recommend what they should do. I actually had friends that ended up not coming and one of the reasons why was because they had no place to stay and didn't want to pay more for another hotel. But at least in Orlando there are plenty of hotels around so if they have to stay off property or something they will still be there!

For the cruise we are going on i actually reserved and deposited for some extra rooms because i know some people will do this and there isnt another option on a cruise ship. I have until 2 months before the druise to get my deposits back so if they still havnt booked that will be on them.
 
We decided to make ribbon wands as our staged exit. Trace made some prototypes earlier and they look great. should be another fun thing to make once we get down to Florida in bout a month.

Its just some of the wedding party hasnt gotten rooms yet, but I know thell be there, it would just be nice if we were all together instead of being spread out around property and off property. I hope we dont have any cancellations because of the rooms, but some of our guests that we have tried to contact about the issues have just been unresponsive, so it could come down to that. Well see i guess

Hope everyone had a happy thansgiving and black friday. I ended up working from 11:30pm-8:30am and I actually had a great time. It was oner of the best black fridays I ever worked. Although by the time I was done, there were no good deals anywhere, but I dont really need to shop for anything right now anyways.

Trace is still in Fl with her family. She had her first dress fitting today and she said it went well. They needed to hem the bottom and take it in a little, but otherwise it zipped and she was very happy. I dont know if/when she has a second fitting, but Im sure it will be sometime when were down in december. Shell come back on Sunday, and Its odd being here alone...cant wait for her to come back.

Tables are done based on the current count that we have. We do have some room in case there are some drops. The tables are going to be named off of vinylmation series in our collection.

Before we leave for Fl, were gonna take pictures of our collection for the table names. Well decorate em some-how and put them on the table near the centerpiece floral so that our guests know which table is which. I am trying to see if the parks still sell the mickey head picture holders that sit on a wire with the clamp on the back. I was thinking of using those instead of frames as to not take away from the centerpiece. I just need to know if the parks still sell them or something like it, cause the two that I have are a few yaers old. I cant seem to find any pictures online, and there not on the diney store site. Anyone know anything bout them?

We had what I think was our final BEO phone conference with Meri on monday. Made some small changes. the main things we moved around was food and beverage numbers based on our count. We had to move the food up to 79 adult meals and 1 kid meal. and beverage moved to 71 bar and 9 soda packages. Told Meri bout the specialty drink and she thought it was great. Talked about getting some of the glow cubes to put in the drinks. There basically the glow-tinis that they serve around the resort. The cubes are bout $3-4 I think so it would put that cost round $200 and change if we did 70 of them. I dont think 70 people are gonna have our drink..I was thinkin more like 20-40 of them. Trace wasnt sure cause she didnt want to not get enough and then our guests think that they ran out or something. I still think there neat and wanna do them, but if therse not enough room in the budget for them then I guess we wont em...sigh

Tried to reduce the centerpiece cost by adding some greenery to them, but it only took $100 off so we might just keep it the way it was.

Trace took a majority of the gifts and such down to Fl with her over the break so we dont have to take much when we leave in December. Finished all the cds to put in the welcome bags. So now its just print-a-palozza once we get home.

..Thanks...I like the urban series and Traces fav is the Park. I have all the urbans from 2-6. Im only missing the super mouse from urban 4. and I just need the alien from 7 and ill have that complete set. Of course Urban 8 is out now...

As I said in the last post, our table names are based off of Vinylmation series in our collection. We got some fabric and hung it on a wall to make a photo-shoot for them...lol...have a couple done...

So it might be picture frames, we just dont want them overtaking the centerpieces cause there only 8" bowls. I guess well see.

RANT ALERT!!!!
I called a davids bridal last week to see if they had aisle runners in there store. The associate I talked to said they had a lot in stock. So we decide to go by there on Sunday to buy one. We looked online and they were about $29. I figured that plus a $50 set up fee was better than paying $260 for a disney aisle runner. Anyways..we get there and it was maybe like a couple hours before closing and the associate I asked where the aisle runners were looked at me like she didnt know what an aisle runner was. Hellooooooo..you work at a bridal store!!!!! She goes away and comes back and says that they dont have any. I asked if they dont carry them, and she said they carry them, they were just sold out. But they tols me they had A LOT!!!! what does that mean 2 or something.....MEH!!!!

Anyways....good news was that there was a party store next door to the davids bridal and we walked in there looking for some t shirts to make for our park day....and we ended up finding a fabric aisle runner in the wedding section and it was only $25..so uhhh....davids bridal..I feel like that Walmart commercial where the lady completed her list..BOOM!!!...lol

Alright, so Ill get to what I think is our Final BEO!!!!!

The other page is just our total which is $25,867.65.
....so over our original 20,000 that our parents gave us. But at that point I dont think we anticipated 70-80 people to attend, as you can see the main cost is food and beverage. I think our initial BEO was somewhere closer to $28,000 so We got it down a little. We had to switch our adult/kids meals to 79/1 which raised that price..meh...but the bar package lowered to 71/9 so I guess we saved there?? too bad my sister just turned 20...she keeps saying why we couldnt wait another year...lol

Floral is a lil bit complicated cause I always forget how to post it on here..Ill get that next time....ill be posting again tomorrow...cause ill say it tonight but tomorrow is......
