JaxTeach's PJ-- SBP/CG/UK Upper December 14, 2007 *After Wedding Update 12/15*

Congratulations! I am glad everything worked out and you were able to exchange your dress. Dress number three is beautiful.:)

I am SO excited that you got Dress #3. I kept thinking "I wonder which dress JaxTeach bought" and checking this thread :rotfl:

Congratulations! I have loved reading your planning journal! I will be following in your footsteps with having a ceremony at SBP and dinner at Cali Grill (Sonoma Room).

Dress 3 is SO beautiful, and even better, it's just as good from the back as from the front. I really liked dress 1 too, and then I noticed something. I was reading this weeks People Magazine bridal issue and it had some pictures of old wedding dresses. I realized that even though bridal dresses seem classic, they are definitely follow the trend of the decade. The 2000's dress of choice seems to be strapless, skirt raises, sash and color. The first dress had all four!

Your wedding is coming up SOOO soon! I wish you the absolute best of luck, and thank you for your helpful contributions on this board.

Jil

Yay for dress 3! I have it with me at my grandparents right now and keep wanting to try it on...again and again...:rotfl:

I know the wedding is going to creep up on us! School has been out for almost a month and it has flown by so I know the next 5 months will go fast. I hope I'm pretty prepared for the wedding by the end of August. I know we will have things to do leading up to it, but I'd like to have most of the actual planning done. Good luck to everyone planning who comes before and after us! :goodvibes

Speaking of which, while I am out of town, DF has booked our honeymoon! We will be leaving on 12/19 heading to Paris for 8 days. We will spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at Disneyland Paris. I know Paris is a strange destination in the winter, but we are Floridians and will enjoy that more than any tropical destination. I can't wait! :woohoo:

Oh my gosh - this is something we are seriously considering, but it seemed so complicated - how did DF book it? What are airfares like? Can you fly directly to Paris from Orlando? Sorry about all the questions - you could PM me if this is too far off topic, but I would loooove to hear how you guys did this! :)

Paris at Christmas - how romantic! Congratulations, it sounds as if all your planning is coming along nicely.

We actually booked our vacation through Travelocity. We used Travelocity last November when we went to Anaheim and had no problems. We are flying from Orlando to Paris via Detroit on Northwest-- no direct flights to my knowledge. We are going for one of the busiest weeks of the year :santa: and paid a little over $2000 for 7 nights. The flight alone is over $1500 so I have no complaints. We are staying in Paris for the majority of our trip, not DLP.

I called DLP last week to ask some questions about making a room only reservation (we have comp tickets from my brother for park admission). For 2 nights at the Disneyland Hotel and 2 day park admission we were quoted $1900. It is a gorgeous hotel and perfect location, but we won't be staying there! :rotfl:

If you have any other questions let me know. I'm working on the logistics of our stay in Paris and it doesn't seem like too much of a hassle. I can't wait for our wedding and am looking forward to our honeymoon even more!

Disneyland Paris!!! yay! I am sooo excited for you, and jealous! That is my all-time dream to go there...

Take tons of pics! Congrats!! :cool1:

It has been one busy week for wedding planning! I finally sent out our first newsletter along with our Save the Dates. These were supposed to be mailed at the beginning of the month, but oh well!

Save the Date Magnet:

I also got an email "proof" of our 2 Leave a Legacy tiles we made a couple of weeks ago.

Cake
After changing my mind several times, I think I've finally found the perfect cake for us! I've sent it to my WP to get pricing. I want to add silver and blue hidden Mickeys to give it a little color. This is another DISer's cake, but I'm sorry I can't remember who!

Floral
This week my mom and I went to Orlando to speak with a couple of florists. We had appointments with Orlando Florist and Whimsical Wey. They both gave similar estimates, but I think we will get more bang for the buck with Whimsical Wey. I'm waiting for the final quote from both so we'll see. Whimsical Wey will deliver and setup so that is a big plus.

Has anyone used either Orlando Florist or Whimsical Wey? I got a really good feeling from Chris at Whimsical Wey.

We are wanting 3 corsages (mothers and grandmother), 6 bouts, a bouquet for me (I will use my DFTW bouquet for our MK pictures), LOTS of petals, memorial candle arrangement, 2 side arrangements, and 3 or 4 centerpieces. I think our Disney floral quote is high with not as many flowers (as in more greenery and filler).

Here are some of our ideas for the reception:

Centerpieces (with blue, lavender, and ivory flowers):

We want a floral ring with a candle/s inside. We will place votives on the table as well.

Cake Table (I know this is another DIS bride, but I can't remember who!):

I've been collecting wedding pictures of our grandparents and parents to place on the cake table while traveling this summer. I bought some cute frames for this project that I'll have to post later.

I am also continuing to gather things for our Welcome Bags. I bought a LOT of stuff at the Character Premiere outlets (I had no idea there are 2 in Orlando!) and at the Disney Store during the Semi-Annual Sale. I will post some pics later today of what we've gathered so far.

I've been playing phone tag with Randy Chapman all week. We've paid our deposit and have our date. I think we are supposed to discuss the timeline for the day. Hopefully we will make contact soon! :goodvibes

I love everything you've done - it's so pretty! I particularly love the programs!

You are going to LOVE Paris! I love Paris!! Me and DBF have been quite a few times now, and we went for both my 20th and 21st birthday which is around the same time as you're going. We go as often as we can as we love Paris and it's just over the Channel to us. The Christmas decorations at DLRP are so pretty and I love the Christmas Parade! I can't get the song out of my head right now!

C'est Noël, C'est Noël
Sing along, sing a song of Christmas
Chante, C'est Noël
‘Tis that wonderful time of year :teeth:

Let me tell you, it is COLD in Paris in Dec/Jan and I mean COLD! It actually started snowing on my 20th birthday, but it was really magical! I know what you mean about Disneyland Hotel however - it looks very pretty and location location location, but I don't understand how anyone could justify those prices! We've stayed at Holiday Inn DLRP and DreamCastle Hotel which are Disney 'endorsed' - kinda like the Hilton at DTD or something. I big up the Holiday Inn to everyone as we got it soooo cheap compared to a Disney Hotel and it's only 5mins from the park on a Disney shuttle bus.

We're planning another trip for Jan/Feb 2008, after TOT opens but so we can still catch the 15th Anniversary celebrations!

Oh, I use this website quite a lot for menus - http://www.dlpfoodguide.com/index.php I find it really handy! The Happy Days Brownie at Annette's is TDF! I have lots of useless Paris/DLRP info!!

Thank you! I hope our programs work out when the time comes to actually print them up.

I hope we can survive the cold weather! I am actually excited you mentioned snow. DF has lived in Florida all of his life and has not been in cold weather often. Sadly, he's never seen snow before! That would be such a wonderful honeymoon present to him.

Thanks for the link to the DLP menus. :thumbsup2 We will certainly make good use of those! I've looked at staying at the Holiday Inn if we are unable to use the RER trains due to the holiday. I suppose I need to figure that out before the hotels book up...

I wanted to add some of the things I've been forgetting before leaving for the North Carolina. We received our floral quote from Whimsical Wey and I am very happy... I think we will be going with Chris and Whimsical Wey for our floral. They are charging $50 to setup our floral for the ceremony and reception. I can't do it and I don't want to have one of our guests do it, so $50 sounds like a fair price. Our roses will be Cool Water lavender roses with green hypericum accents. We will also have some blue hydrandgea in the centerpieces and arrangements.

I finally took some photos of our Welcome Bags. I'm not sure what sort of container this stuff will be in. I saw someone who had really neat boxes. We might have to go with the "natural" gift bags. I still have more practical things to buy, but here is what we have so far:

Here is my tiara and veil. I bought them both on eBay and I'm pleased. The tiara is really more of a headband than actual tiara.

I bought a little Mickey pendant for my niece (flower girl) to wear on the wedding day. It is pink so she will love it. princess: I also bought Mickey initial brooches for us to wear.

DF has purchased a suit to wear to the wedding. For some reason I wasn't liking the idea of a tuxedo. I thought he would be able to fancy up a nice suit and add some color in there.
Here is the suit he bought:

Here is the shirt and tie he bought as well:

I've been playing around with ideas for our Table Numbers. This is what I have so far (I only had primary color card stock, I don't intend to use that shade of blue!):

We will be placing photos of our parents' and grandparents' weddings on our cake table.

I ordered this personalized DVD case from Disney Shopping a while back.

I also picked up some albums to put wedding photos and honeymoon photos in.

I will be ordering the LED light chaser necklaces to give to our guests at our DP. They are backordered right now, but they should be in by our December wedding. :santa:

I spoke to Randy Chapman regarding our photography last week. We have a 2 hour gap where we won't really be using him so I'm not sure what to do about that. I emailed him but he's asked me to call again. I am a stickler for having things in writing so this makes me nervous.... I know that everything will be fine based on his rave reviews.

Woooo... I still feel like I have so much to do. Oh well, I will have a week off to relax and collect my thoughts.

everything looks great - I especially love the kid's welcome bags! :goodvibes have a great time on your vacation - looks like everything is coming along beautifully!

Michelle :cloud9:

The welcome bags are awesome!! Those are the kids of things I want to buy my cousins as souvenirs when we go in 4 weeks, so thank you for giving me ideas :goodvibes I've never been to WDW before so had no idea what types of souvenirs I'm looking at

Everything looks awesome! And so nice! :thumbsup2

Everything looks wonderful. I love the cool water roses, they are so pretty:cloud9: Your veil is gorgeous aswell, you look like you've been very busy.
I love the cake table, the swag with the lights is beautiful. The idea of having your parents and grandparents wedding pics on the table is so sweet and unique, I love it!

Hi there,
I just got caught up on your PJ. Everything looks great! Love the idea of the parents and grandparents pictures, but given the divorce and remarriage going on in my family that would not go well! Maybe if I just put my grandparents pictures there...since they will not be able to attend the wedding...hmmm you've got me thinking!

I understand the whole get it done during the summer thing...I'm a teacher too, I just have until March to wait in anticipation!
Congratulations and Good Luck with the rest of the planning.
Would you mind me asking how you go the Mickey Heads on your newsletter? I'm working on mine right now, and need something cute to add to it! Thanks!

We have one set of grandparents who were divorced... I'm not sure what to do about that. Both sets of my grandparents and my parents were not married in a church so I'm having to wing it with photos. We are also having my grandmother and both sets of DF's grandparents' photos at the ceremony as they have passed away.

I can't believe how quickly this summer has flown by... but I guess they all do! Even if I don't finish all of my projects before August, at least I will have an idea of what to do as December creeps up on me.

The Mickey heads on my newsletter were found on the Creative boards here on the DIS. Those folks are wonderful! If you can't find it, I'd be happy to send it to you. Just let me know! :)
