Ok I was at US studios yesterday for a few hours and while working through the path that used to be Amity....They have a wall erected with movie posters on there. We found a spot that had a peep whole large enough to look through.

So being the curious cats that we are we all had to look....and what we saw were multiple pallets of cobble stones (matts for a walkway, I'm assuming) Then we walked down a little more and a gate had been left open, it was right next to this photo spot across from the san fran pastry co.

Well I stood lookout and my sister looked behind the empty gate, she said there were people there so she ran back out and was in there for 3 seconds lol, she claims the materials looked very Harry Potter. She also saw some train tracks

Please dont try this, I dont want people getting kicked out of the park (dnt worry we didnt lol)

I believe the stone you are seeing is for the new water front against the lagoon.:thumbsup2

Yeah. I think it is pretty much guaranteed that Universal is determined to exploit their success with HP and bring it to USF where it really doesn't fit. Thanks for the "first-hand" info and hope you enjoyed your trip! Now, we just have to wait for a official announcement that will provide us with more specific.

again please dont try this (I dont want to be responsible for someone getting kicked out) lol

When I went last (months ago), I asked an employee if they had any info on what was going to replace Jaws, and she said she couldn't tell me (but she looked like she knew). I told the employee about Harry Potter, and they said it wasn't going to be that.

But it looks like it is going to be that.

Employees honestly don't know. They will know when everything is officially announced to the public. Anything is just merely speculation and rumors.

We're almost at half a year since Jaws closed,Universal needs to announce this new Potter area already, and it better be that because it's the only thing that's been rumored to go there that really looks like something amazing.I know some people don't want another Potter area or feel it doesn't belong in the studios, what I would tell you is that the only other thing that's been rumored to go there is the Transformers ride that just opened in Universal Hollywood and after seeing pictures and videos of the show building and even the ride itself I have no interest in seeing that come to Orlando, too similar to Spider Man and it just doesn't look that amazing.I'm not a huge fan of either film but I greatly prefer the Potter theme and if the rumors of the Potter area do bring an indoor Gringots bank coaster and a train ride connecting both parks that right there would keep the people coming at record levels to Universal.

Let me quote myself again.

Im hoping Universal can replace Amity with something that's not HP. There's so many great unused properties out there.

Why doesn’t a Harry Potter themed area fit in a movie studio theme park? :rolleyes1 “Universal Studios Ride the Movies!!”

I’ll admit I would have been happier with an updated Jaws and Amity area but like your take on this issue, nothing short of replacement was going to happen.

I love Harry Potter but, that being said, I loved Jaws and am sad to see it go :sad2: I am glad we took the kids on it when we went. Funny story, my DH is a huge Jaws fan so we have watched the movie, oh I don't know, a million times:rotfl2: My kiddos (11/7) have grown up watching this movie since they were literally babies. We even vacation at the beach every year....no trauma :) When we first took them to Universal, they were 7 and 3, DS7 insisted on sitting on the left side of the boat...Mommy said let me sit there that is where the shark is going to come up but NOOOO....he knew it all, wasn't scared, been watching this shark his WHOLE LIFE!!!! Then it happened....My child went straight up about 2 feet and straight over Me, My mom, his baby sister and onto his Dad's lap in one swift movement. It has been four years and we all still roll when we think about it :rotfl2:
