FYI:

Jaws will be down for the next 3-5 weeks for repairs and maintenance.

:( This is my first time to universal and i was so looking forward to this ride. I heard so much about it.

When are you going Raggedy? I personally think Jaws is over-rated but I can see how if you have never been on it, you would want to try it.

I am going on October 10th for the halloween night. We will be there all day, also.

It will still be down by then. They are draining the water.

That sucks that Jaws is going to be down since I will be there later in the week. However, I think I can get by without a shark coming out of the water to attack me.

Of course, that is the inherent problem that comes with animatronic attractions that are doused in water a lot, a need for rehab.

I wonder if anyone has ever made a list of which attractions have gone down the most for annual (regular) maintenance. E.G., a ride that needs a lot of down time every 365 days just to keep it running during peak season.

Some people call Jaws overrated, but I still jump out of my seat in the boathouse. :o

Jaws would be a great attraction for HHN. I love Jaws in the dark. Same with JPRA but they aren't operating either.

I was actually shocked when I saw that it wouldn't be open for HHN. Missing out on a big opportunity, IMO. Also, if Amity were open, they could put the Midway in it's rightful place.

Exactly!::yes:: I wonder how they intend to park the floats and then take them away again without destroying the scare zone?

Noooooooooooooooooo!:( & I just bought the dvd so my kids could see it before riding:scared: :(

That stinks. I'm heading to Universal this weekend and was looking forward to riding Jaws. Damn!

Yesterday (9/19) was the first day it was closed. As far as why they didn't use it for HHN is probably because of staffing. They can only staff a few rides because the employees are needed in houses, parades, scare zones, etc.

In years past they only used one park for HHN and so the other park employees could help with HHN. Now since they are using both parks there is no way they could realistically keep every ride open.

Somebody makes the decision to close Jaws and keep Cat In The Hat open? Jaws is more appropriate than Jimmy Nuetron. I agree with F-L-A that they could have made better choices.

F-L-A, I agree with you on the boathouse. My son jumped on my lap and I jumped on my husband's lap during that part of the ride. Very intense, but very cool.

It was good on HHN 10, because you got to ride it at night. You also got to walk on the bottom of King Kong when it was open

I was looking forward to riding it with my boys next month! They have never been and are so excited. My 7 yo wanted Jaws to be the first thing that we do. Bummer....:( :( :( :(
