Japan 2022- fireworks festivals and TDR.. where to start?

I am planning to go to Japan in 2022 between July-August (two weeks but dates undecided yet).. looking forward to catch at least two fireworks festivals and a visit to TDR... have any one has experience with the festivals? Is it feasible to organize on my own or travel agency is a must? If so..any recommendations pls?
