Januray refurbs?

I am still trying to decide when to schedule our trip. I am looking at historic park hours/showtimes from 2014 and 2013 and noticed that Fantasmic seems to be down m-f the first full week after new years. Is this typical??...also there were no firework shows the entire week as well?

Yes this is typical. After the week that includes New Years is over, the schedule goes back to off season...which means F! and fireworks are on Fri-Sun. F! can go down for refurb during that time as well, so it is not even showing on the weekends during that time.
