January plan?

Hi We have booked discovery cove on 31st December, as we figured that would be the least crowded place to go on NYE, our tickets include Sea World so we are planning on go Sunday Jan 1st and maybe again on Wed Jan 4th.

Any advice?
Will the park be very busy?
Not sure weather to book a tour to break up the day or allow the kids to feed animals without fighting crowds???

January 4th will be MUCH less crowded than January 1st. Honestly, probably a difference of about 20,000+ people, since most people are back at school. I think doing a tour would be a great idea. If you decide on a tour, I would book the tour on January 1st. The tour is designed to avoid the hassle of the big crowds and it provides structure to your day which on a crowded day is a great thing to have. You should get reserved seats to shows so you won't have to battle crowds for that. Then use the 2nd day (The 4th), which again will be much less crowded, to enjoy other exhibits or shows that the tour didn't cover. Or even revisit some shows or exhibits you saw during the tour that you really enjoyed. With less people, it will be even more enjoyable.

One of the benefits of going to Seaworld on January 1st, is that Seaworld will be at the very end of their Christmas celebration. Christmas activities include Christmas themed night shows such as "Shamu Christmas Miracles", "Clyde and Seamore Countdown to Christmas", "A sesame street Christmas", "Winter wonderland on ice" (Ice Skating show), "Sea of Trees" which is 50+ Christmas trees that are set on top of a lake that come alive at night and give off a light show to Christmas music. Finally, there's also "Holiday Reflections" (Fireworks show) These Christmas themed night shows are different than the regular day shows. There will also be Christmas decor, Christmas costumed characters, and "The Polar express experience" which is a motion simulator ride set to scenes from the popular movie. All of these Christmas themed activities will be done and gone by the time you would revisit on the 4th. The park will look totally different with all the Christmas decorations down.

I think doing both days will be worth it. Especially seeing that Christmas themed shows and decor on the 1st.

Great info KBF (and an excellent question, ozvisitor!). We arrive December 31st and leave January 7th so those first few days before the kiddos go back to school have us a bit worried and looking for some alternatives or ideas to combat the crowds.

Anyone know how freakishly busy New Years Eve will be at SeaWorld? We are due to arrive in Orlando at 10 a.m., thought it might be fun to head there after dinner for some fun and fireworks (assuming we are still awake....our flight is 7 a.m. from Syracuse meaning we'll be up around 4 a.m. that morning). Will it be a case where the park will likely be at capacity by a certain point in the day, and they close the gates to additional visitors?
