January No Buy - let's start the year off right

Not doing the whole month, just shooting for a "no buy" week this week (non-gas, non-grocery, non-bill spending):

Sunday - $0
Monday - $0
Tuesday - $0
Wednesday - $0
Thursday - $0
Friday - $0
Saturday - $0 Was afraid DD13 would bug to do something "fun" today that involved spending money, but she managed to get herself grounded this morning for mouthing off at me :rolleyes1

The week is done and I did it!:banana::banana: I've already moved my $70 allowance for the week into savings! Tomorrow I start next weeks allowance, and the plan is that normal spending of that allowance is allowed. Next month, I'll shoot another no-buy week.

(In the interest of full disclosure, I did spend $105 on groceries today, and $40 on gas. Both of those will hold us for the next 2 weeks. I had $100 budgetted for the groceries and normally come in a bit under that, but my spending came in a bit higher than normal this time because I am having major dental surgery on Wednesday and had to buy extra "soft" foods to eat for a week after that. I had $55 budgetted for the gas, so I was happy to see the pump on that one - are you all loving the cheaper gas prices as much as I am??? :yay:)

I forgot how hard the no-buy month can be, especially combining my errands into fewer days with my toddler--not the most cooperative shopping companion. Anyway, I guess I'm doing ok, but it's hard to stay motivated. Hopefully I can get to 15 no-buy days!

I did the same thing today! Combined 2 errands into one. My toddler normally loves going to the store. We were only out over an hour but by the time we got to the second store he was just done. I thought he would be happy to be out since we've been stuck inside a lot with the cold.

13 spend day - market & walmart - nothing we actually needed but it was stuff we use and I had coupons for, did really well (paper towels, cat food, and some non perishables) also took $20 out for my mystery shopping that I did tonight and another one for tomorrow
14 will be a spend day - need to go to CVS
