I read this in the latest AAA magazine that was sent to me. Does this mean that in January they will be having 'sales' on packages in addition to the AAA discount? I have been waiting to book our trip to see if any good codes come out and then I found this out...anybody know anything about this?!?

This is the only "special" I know of for January:
"...you'll receive a voucher to redeem one of the following: Mickey Plays When Walt's Away Clock OR Mickey Photo Frame Memory Box when you purchase a AAA VAcations Magic Your Way Package during January for arrival between 4/23/06 and 12/19/06. Must book 1/2/06 - 1/31/06."

I believe d4est is correct. In 2005 we booked through AAA in January and the "special" was $25 Dinsey Dollars at check-in. I liked that better than the offers they have this year.

We'ved checked w/ them in Jan also and really didn't see the big deal. We have always been able to do it cheaper ourselves. Even using the AAA discount at times. Let us know if you get a good deal.

How much is a usual discount AAA will give on the package deal? We are looking at CBR the first week of April.

Thanks!!

The discounts are 15% off all mods and deluxes during 'value season' and 10% during regular (i think) however each category of resort has different times when they are value and regular. Check www.mousesavers.com to find out the different seasons. If you go on the AAA website and click on 'book hotel, airfare, car' and type in the dates you want for Orlando, Fl you can find the discounts for all the hotels. Hope that helps. I am still contemplating using them for a discount or just waiting for a good code to come out...

I work at CAA...like AAA in the US. So far I haven't seen any deals other than what has been mentioned here. Some locations will have a Disney Day where they will offer something extra with a booking. Ours is January 19....it is my first year there and since my manager considers me her "wdw expert" she has been including me in the decision making. We are in talks with our rep to see what we can offer.

Keep in mind your AAA travel agent can book any codes for you as well. So if you book at the package rate and a better rate with code comes out...just call and have them change the booking. As well through the agents booking website they can book AP rates and order your room tickets. For most of these things, yes you can do it yourself. There are people though that prefer to do it with an agent still.

The AAA packages do have some extra features as well...I am not at the office so I don't have the full list.

Thanks for the great info! I am the OP of this thread and still skeptical as to where to book. Its good to hear from someone who works for CAA and knows Disney. I am hearing bad things about the AAA TA's who 'know nothing' about Disney and a whole bunch of bad stuff. I also heard that they may not be able to get you the codes. If they can then I will def use them!

I can tell you, there are some agents at AAA/CAA who don't know squat about disney. That is the same for any agency, although i think people expect more from the CAA/AAA agents and rightly so.

If you are speaking to an agent that you are not happy with ask if their office has someone more experienced. If not try a different office. I have been speaking to my manager about this very thing....explaining to her the huge wdw market out there, the fact that we are almost the only place to even get a room only discount anymore...and then asking her why our wdw sales are not what they could be. Some of the agents I know say there is too much to know, and I think sometimes get caught up in the other "higher commission" paying products.

Although I have been a travel agent i am not one at CAA...however starting this month I am able to sell the disney products. I am hoping I can start to give our location the reputation in our area as the go to place for all things disney!!!

Erica,

I just noticed you autism logo...where did you get it and can i copy it in my signature? My ds has ASD.

Quick question: I booked my package with CAA last month for my trip next month (FEB, 06) and paid them in full just before x'mas, and now all the park ticket prices have increased (Jan 1st) Do I have to pay more?? (please say no)

No, you won't have to pay more. When you book and pay the deposit, you lock in that particular price. :)

You sure can copy it! I am not sure exactly where I got it but if you go onto google and type in 'autism awareness' and then search under images you can find a whole bunch!
