I noticed that these months are typically value seasons.

We usually like March. Last year it was pretty nice weather, not too hot most of the time and crowds weren't bad at all. I did notice that for Disney Resorts, it is considered Peak rates.

DD's birthday is January 25th, so I thought about doing a trip the end of January through the beginning of February, but...

What is the weather like?

What are the park crowds like during this time?

Are the water parks still open?

I highly recommend January/February. We went the past January and the weather was perfect. Not hot (about 80 the last day( and not too cold. But the main reason we go then is, no crowds. The longest wait for anything was about 20 minutes for Space Mountain.
Some water parks are closed for maintenance and you take the chance of hitting weather too cold to go in the water.
Have fun,
Bob

Have been there the past 2 Februarys, the weather is fabulous!! OK, it was a little cold our last day (in Feb.) this year but I'll take it over the dripping hot days of summer anyday!

January can be "iffy"...it's been know to be quite chilly and sometimes rainy. Rain is not fun when its in the 40s or 50s in WDW. The crowds were also very low when we were there this past Feb. but more crowded in Feb 03 when it was President's Day weekend.

We have been the first week in Feb. for the past two years and are planning a third for this year. We really enjoy this time of year at WDW! It is such a nice break from winter for us! We have had wonderful weather the past two Feb's. We were able to swim most days and wear shorts and feel wonderful sunshine. :) The parks are not packed with people either which is great. One water park is always open year round. The one that is closed is having refurbishing done on it.

We go every year the first week of February. The crowds are very minimal and the weather can be iffy. It can be very nice and it can also be overcast, wet and windy. It really is a great time to go though. Bring a variety of clothing. Be sure and pack things that you can layer. A sweatshirt or jacket just in case and atleast one pair of long pants. Other than that - it's Florida :sunny:

We love going this time of year - Feb. It is colder at night and the weather can be iffy (2 years ago it was cold) as previously stated. This years Feb trip was wonderful - perfect for walking, not crowded - do bring layers. We did the Fireworks Cruise and it was fantastic no crowd on the water.

We like this time of year since it is less crowded and you can get better resort rates. But the weather can iffy, but it's warmer than at home!

This past year, we spent two nights at WDW in early Feb. following a cruise on the Magic. The two days that we were there were cooler than normal, which meant around 65 during the day. However, when we were at MK for early entry, it was about 40 degrees with a wind chill around freezing. It didn't help that we had just been cruising for a week with temps in the mid 80s. We didn't have particularly warm clothing, but layered what we had. I wished we had gloves for the first couple hours. We were cold! But after an hour or so at MK it started to warm up.

I asked a CM about the cool temps and she said that it was an unusual cold spell and that just a couple days earlier it had been in the 80s. And, I saw the forecast for the day after we were leaving and the temps were going back up again.

If you don't mind that it could be cool or could be warm, it's a great time to go.

This year we are going the second week of Feb. Last year we went the last week and the weather was perfect!!! Warm days and nights -- not hot -- and NO rain to speak of -- only one partly cloudy day. We wanted to go the same week this year, but it is peak time, and I can't justify the extra $$$. Hopefully, we'll luck out. Also, the crowds were low. In fact, the morning that we were at Universal we were the only ones on some of the streets. Of course, that changed the later it got, but it never got bad. Minimal wait just about everywhere.

Have a great trip!

We were there the 1st week of Feb this year. The weather Day 1 was CHILLY but after about 2pm that day and on through the week it was WONDERFUL weather. We even hit the pool a few days! When we go back to stay a full week, this is the time I want to go. Its not at all the rainy season either.
