Sorry moderators I could not find the right place to post this.

Does anyone know if there are usually Discounts for January? I have never been at this time but I assume it is a slower season and they would usually have something. Any idea about when in the year they release for that time of year. Thanks so much for the help.

There are normally room discounts for January. Mousesavers maintains a list of the past discounts. Just go to her site and enter "historical discounts" into the search box.

DVC points are extremely cheap in January (It's the cheapest season, along with September and the first 2 weeks of December).

Right now you are still more than 7 months out from January, so I'd go over the DVC Rent/Trade board and find an owner for the DVC hotel you want to stay at, and go that route. I did that for January 2011 and got 8 nights at the Boardwalk Villas for $108 per night (rented 86 points ... $10 per point). Our good friends at church got the Beach Club Villas for $9.50 per point. Now I won't go without renting DVC points.

I have been to WDW many times in mid-late Jan and have always received a discount. DH and I went to WDW this past Jan and were able to get BWI with a 40% discount. There is a good chance that discounts may not be available right around the MLK holiday; it is not unusual for WDW to black out some dates from discounts. Here is a link to some information about historical discounts: http://www.mousesavers.com/historicalwdwdiscounts.html#codetrends

We were there the past two Januarys. This year they offered free dining for mid - late January. I remember crunching the numbers to see if we would save $ vs. staying offsite. I think they announced the FD in late fall. We purchased discounted tickets through the YES program, so that might be something to look into.
