January crowds?

Morning all! When do the holiday crowds usually die off in January? Do the change in hours reflect the crowd levels? Thanks!

If you have the Unofficial Guide, you can use their crowd calendar. The hours usually do reflect what WDW expects in terms of crowds. I would expect the crowds to drop off after January 1st and then drop off more after January 6th (since some kids have that week off). Crowds come again in January over MLK weekend.

Is that any help? Or at least a bump!

We have been several times in January,always after the first week and have always found the crowds to be lower than any other time. There however can be crowed days even then. We had a huge crowd day on a beautiful Sunday this past January. We have also seen crowds grow closer to MLK too.

crowds also swell for the marathon. The marathon also goes threw the parks which makes it a bit tough. Some of the roads are also closed.

Yikes when is the marathon? We are in the parks 1/27-2/1. I hope its not too busy. We were there that time 3 years ago and thought it was the best time ever.

Last year we went at the end of Jan. It is one of the best times to go crowd-wise. The weather is a bit unpredictable- could need winter coats, might go in shorts. We will plan our next vacation for late Jan. again.

The marathon is 1/13/2008, so you will avoid it.

We will be there the same week as you in 2008! We were there last year during the marathon weekend, and, other than the sweaty runners on the monorail one afternoon, we really didn't notice.

Last year we arrived the Sunday of Marathon weekend. We really didn't notice any crazy crowds til the next Friday afternoon and Saturday, but that was the beginning of MLK weekend. Overall, it was great! And no rain!
