January 8, 2011 - 7 Night Western Caribbean Sailing

You are SO right! Joe won't move from this area, either, because he wouldn't be able to get the "right" kind of cheesesteaks.

I grew up in NYC, but I was able to live other states and countries without being near to my favorite, White Castles. What a baby!

So, is it Pat's or Geno's?

Geoff say's Geno's. Although there is some sort of "taste test" he has to do with the guys where they get one of each and just check (wink wink) to see which is the best. Good thing we don't live up there we are both on a major diet trying to (for me) loose a lot before the cruise (for him) win a weight loss competition he has going on at work and get $500.
Ugg I need to stop thinking about food and get back to work. I'm having a huge yard sale tomorrow to get rid of all the baby stuff in the house.

That's so great about the discount code being able to help some people! I actually (half) entertained the idea of bringing my future stepdaughters and changing so could use the deal... then I stepped back and realized what a crazy idea..lol...This is our honeymoon, and prob last vacation without kids, so def have to allow it to be adults only for us!..lol..

We are also East coasters here.. NJ.. :cool1:

Anyone flying Southwest? They lowered some fares this morning and I was able to change our return $100 flights to $79 ones. Yay! I now have credit towards my next flight.

Added -- Just this morning changed our outbound flights from $100 to $89. More money in the kitty for a flight next year. Maybe Las Vegas? New Orleans? Or wherever? LOVE Southwest for this feature.

Katie -- where in New Jersey?

My wife Gay and I (Gil), just booked this cruise. My wife has always wanted to take our niece, Noelle, on a Disney cruise, because she loves both Disney princesses and Mickey Mouse. So, we decided to do it once we saw we could take her for free. My wife and I will both be 39 and the time we cruise, and our niece will be 6. We live in Winston-Salem, NC, and will be driving down to see family the week before the cruise. We'll pick our niece up the night before.

We are thinking we are going to surprise her with the cruise, and just tell her that we are taking her to the beach, skipping the fact that we are getting to the beach on a Disney Cruise Ship. I hope to be able to videotape her reaction.

This will be our 5th Disney Cruise, but our first not on the Eastern Caribbean Itinerary.

Hi, its now the 9th September here and we are playing the "where will we be in 4 months" and the answer is on an at sea day!

My daughter and I have been gathering FE gifts that are Australia specific - but have question - do you do FE gifts every day?

Sandie

We are from Toms River (Ocean County). I have to book our flights and I keep going back and forth between Southwest (out of Philly) and Spirit (out of AC). Right now southwest is a few dollars cheaper (because they include luggage!), but they get us there later. We cannot fly down the night before so want to make sure to land with plenty of time to get to the port with making a stop.

Is anyone else flying in the day of the cruise? If so, what time is your flight landing? Does anyone know the latest time we can check in at port without any problems?

Katie, Toms River is not that far!

I used to live in Orlando and have flown Spirit before. I'd trust Southwest more -- in case of problems, there are other flights. Spirit only had the one flight per day; don't know if that has changed.

I think as long as you're at the port by 3, you're good. If you do decide to come down the night before, I was able to book a hotel in Orlando for just $42 via Priceline. We've done the morning flights before and have been exhausted to the point of not being able to enjoy the Sailaway Party.

Welcome Gil and Gay!

What a lovely idea to take your niece on the cruise -- fantastic surprise for her. Don't forget to have her parents sign the form (and get it notarized) for minors traveling with someone other than their parents. You may already know this, but sometimes people overlook that.

Sandie,

FE gifts don't have to be every day. I gave very small gifts last time, but did it three times. I think if you're doing a nice gift, once is fine. I'm a big fan of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie so if you happen upon any gumnut babies.......!

Appreciate these tidbits of advice as I'm still trying to get a handle on what FE gifts could be (and I've been reading the posts on the main forum). I was thinking one per person plus one per family/cabin.

:welcome: to Gil, Gay and Noelle!

Our kids are much older now but I remember when we took them to WDW when they were about that age. Its always fun to see their eyes light up and the broad smiles that break out.

Just booked our airfare - we booked on Southwest and were able to get it $74 one way and $89 back (plus it's nice to know that we could each bring 2 checked bags if needed..lol..)

Now I just need to determine about using Happy Limo (or something like that) to get to the port and a rental car for the return (with a stop at Downtown Disney of course before our 7pm flight home..lol..) :cool1:

Can't wait...less than 4 months!!!

YAY!!! We just booked our cruise!! :woohoo: This will be our 3rd cruise, the first 7 nighter though, so we are sooo excited!!

It's for my 30th bday! Yikes. LOL
My name is Chesha, my dh name is Rick, my dd Cloe will be 7, and my ds will be 4.

What type of things do people use as FE gifts?

Oh..lol, and also- We are from Gainesville, VA :goodvibes
