January 8, 2005 Magic Cruise - Let's Get Ready to Cruise!

Brack,
Glad to hear you had a great time. I would love to see the pictures of the castle. Welcome back to cold weather.
Also, if anyone gets their doc's, let us know.
Staci

Ok, I think we are actually going to book today. Finally! :cool1:
We are getting close, any doc's yet?

This is an early call for cruisers on the Janaury 8th cruise of 2005.

We had a great time meeting other board members on our two cruises this January so we are looking forward to the chats until the cruise.

Sign up early.
:earsgirl: :earsboy:
I will be Cruising on January 8th. Traveling with My friends (in another cabin) Looking forward to it.

:grouphug: Welcome aboard Gabbypick!!!! I cannot believe we are almost just 5 weeks out. Last nite my DH and I were saying 5 weeks from tonight we will be in Downtown Disney!!!!! Is anyone else really stressed out. I have not been sleeping very well. I wake up every morning and think of all the holiday things I have left to do and then I also think of all the trip things I have to do. It is crazy!!! It just seems like yesterday that it was summer.

Has anyone received docs yet???!!!

Talk to you soon,

Marylee

Welcome aboard, Gabbypick. I'll add you to the list of attendees. :boat:

Sunday sounds great for a quick meet.

Can't wait to see your pictures, Brack.

No docs here yet.

Welcome Gabby. Glad to hear you'll be with us. You can find the cruise list on page 16 of this thread.

Ok people, hold yourselves back, I am officially booked on the cruise. :cool1:
Finally!!! I was beginning to think you may be sailing away without me.

Someone please post when you get your docs.

Seriously, DISMeet - Sat. or Sun. or both?
Staci

Staci, I am glad to hear you are booked. I would have been a nervous wreck booking this close to sailing time.:earseek:

Thanks Lisa. I was getting pretty nervous but I was waiting on an interline discount. I spoke with a DCL agent the other day and she told I could go ahead and book and then when they come out with the discount I can apply it towards our reservation. I just wish the agent I spoke to earlier in the year would have told me that. Oh well! We are on the ship, that is all that matters.
Staci

Anybody else getting a little excited about this cruise!! :cool1: and also feeling a bit overwhelmed. No docs yet here.

Chris

I cannot believe my luck! Ok, I told you the other day that we were able to book. Which we were. But when I spoke w/ DCL they didn't have the interline discount yet but informed me that I could book at the regular rate then when/if they offered the interline rate it could be applied to the reservation. So we booked (cat. 10) on Dec. 1st. Last night on the 3rd, I was able to get the interline rate, saved $1,000, and moved up to a Cat. 5.

Disney magic at work! I am so pumped.
I asked when the documents would arrive and was told they'll ship out by UPS about 14 days in advance. I'm sure hoping they send them out earlier. I just don't know if I can wait that long.
Staci

Ok, I just found out that NASA is having a rocket launch on Jan. 8th
at 2:59 pm. I wonder what type of traffic we are going to have getting to the ship?
Also, we will be heading in from Orlando (AS Sp) and will leave earlier than expected. My plan is to be there right when we can board, get all the ressies taken care of then see if we will be able to see the launch. I imagine we'll go to deck 10. I know my sons will be pumped to see a rocket launch. So, if anyone wants to join us, come on.
Staci

Hi Staci! Well, me and my boys will definitely join you for that! It will be so fun. I am glad you warned us about this because we will be at Universal the night before and now we know to leave way earlier just in case.

Wow, Christmas will be here before we know it and then the cruise will be upon us! I am really getting excited now.

No docs yet. That makes me a little nervous, I wonder why they leave them until almost the last minute?

Well, we had the van in for a tune-up and winterizing package, brakes, etc. so it is ready for the long drive down to Florida! Tomorrow I will be calling to book our two dogs and cat to be boarded (that's the sad part!). I think we are getting everything in order.

I am getting nervous for some reason! I guess it is just excitement.

I hope you are all doing great!!!

That is pretty exciting about the rocket launch. I can't wait to tell my crew about it. I'll definitely want to see that.

Skywalker, I didn't realize you were driving down from Canada. Have a safe drive.

Staci, congrats on getting the category 5 for such a good deal!

:grouphug: Is this getting so exciting or what!!!! Do you think that we should plan to leave Orlando a little earlier to get to the port (due to NASA)? It will be awesome if we see something from that eh!!! Cannot believe it is coming so soon. Can't wait to see everyone.

Marylee

Hi everyone!

Thanks Lisa! We will be taking I-75...it IS a bit of a pain to do so much driving but my husband and I are both a little chicken of flying! We are going to head out around January 3rd, plan to arrive sometime on the 6th, stay two days at Universal, check out early on the 8th and head to the Port! So, I consider January 3rd to be the actual start date - maybe I should change my countdown clock. LOL.

Allison.

We are definitely getting excited about this cruise :D
but we are staying the night before in Melbourne and wondering if anybody has driven from there to the port? We are staying there because of Priceline and it said it was close to the Port. Are there any roads to stay away from? 1st timers and everything.
Thanks, Chris

Chris,
When I asked about traffic on launch days on cruise line forum someone said that the locals usually don't use the beeline to see a launch that there were better hwys and roads to see it on. If I were you I'd just do like those of us driving in from Orlando and leave a little earlier than normal.
Staci

Staci,
Thats what we had planned to do. I'm happy you finally got booked on the cruise and even an upgrade. We got the Melbourne Hilton for $45 for Friday night. It seemed close on the map but it looks to be a 25 min drive. We started to put our list of stuff together for the cruise and its really long. I hope we don't overpack.
Chris

Since we are almost to the 30day mark, will you post when you get your docs and who you may have booked with? Sounds like we wont get them for another week or 2 from other posts but I would like to get them soon.

Always feels much closer when I can see the docs.

:boat: I agree I wish that the docs would come. It would seem so much more "official". With all of the holiday stuff going on and everything you would think that they would come a little earlier, just so they don't get lost and so you can get them done. Listen to me I sound so pretentious I've never even been on a cruise before!!!! Here I am like I know what the docs might entail or something!!!! But I do just want to see them.

Write soon.
