January 8, 2005 Magic Cruise - Let's Get Ready to Cruise!

Thanks Staci. I hope to make the air reservations this week. We have to get together with my DS and his DW to plan this out.

My next thing is to pay the balance! We book our cruises, pay the down payment and then save like crazy. The balance is due 60 days out so on that date we pay with our Disney VISA and 30 days later we pay it off. It's a lot of work but it is worth it.

Hope everyone is well. See ya soon

Staci, Good news! Our airfare just dropped in price so we now have a nice little credit with the airline.:)

Marylee, I remember last year when we had a "cold day" rather than a snow day. Brrr, it was cold. Hopefully it won't be that cold this winter.

Hi all.

Just wanted to say hi again since we are getting closer to Jan. The excitement builds since we paid the balance off this week. I hope everyone else has done so or is gettign close.

I must be more excited about our cruise than I realize because I find myself reading these boards almost daily. Should I seek professional help?

I bought my plane tickets yesterday and got a very good deal. We are going out of Dallas but it is only a three hour drive to my DS's home. It was a good deal.

I also booked rooms at WDW for two days before and two after. Also very good deals. The All Star/Pop Century rooms are $55 a night then.

I was so excited about making all these reservations that I also made some for the week before Thanksgiving to visit WDW. Annual Passholders get the All Star/Pop Century rooms at $49 a night.

I only wish that it could have been during the Christmas seasons. I love their decorations!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Remember the balance for the cruise is due soon.

Hey everyone! How's it going? Just got home (Dallas) from Green Bay, WI. We went to the Packer/Cowboy game. Wow, that was so cool. Yeah, the Cowboys lost but I really didn't care. I just wanted the atmosphere of Lambeau Field. Man, it was awesome!
Brack, I'm glad to hear you booked your travel. I know it may have been more affordable on my airline but sometimes you have to take in consideration what your time is worth. That is why I booked us on AA - nonstop to MCO. We'll fly home stand by on SWA after the cruise. I'm going to go find the $55 a night rates for All Stars. Was there a special code that you used?
Well, I called DCL again today and still no interline rate. But it should be soon. I'm ready to pay as soon as they offer it. The friend that we are traveling with, Lisa, has paid her's in full. She's very excited.
What page is our list of attendees on?
We have to meet, just need to decide where.
Talk again soon!
Staci

List of attendees is on page 16, Staci. I added your friend's name.:D

Staci: The fare I booked was less than (gasp) my favorite airline. Of course the SWA fare was from OKC not Dallas but as you know they can not go outside the surrounding states. I did take into account the time factor. They are still my favorite.

The code is EVW or BDL. One is for annual passholders and the other is a special winter rate. It is listed on the WDW web page.

We definitely all need to meet. I took a picture of the last two DIS Meet groups on our cruises. It is fun to put a face to the name.

It's getting close and I am excited. Just think in 58 days Santa will come and then we can begin to pack for our cruise. Take care.

Happy Halloween! Trick or Treat is tonight in our neighborhood. Hope you have a safe one.

I am very happy today. My computer which was dead is now alive again. The hard drive completely died so I lost everything. Today I am re-installing all my software and just got my wireless internet connection backup.

Our WDW hotel reservations came yesterday for the pre and post cruise dates. It is finally coming together.

Take care and we'll see you soon.

Hello All! Excited to fianlly be able to join in (computer problems). Taking our first Disney Cruise on 1/8/05 Magic/Eastern. The info everyone posts is so helpful. Cruising with my 10 y.o DD, DS who turns 12 on XMAS eve, my sister, and me, of course! Don't have a cabin yet--added on my sister in a category w/o any quad cabins so we're being upgraded. Read a few horror stories about that but we're hoping for the best. I am ambulatory with a cane--any helpful suggestions appreciated. Can't wait to meet everyone!!

The door signs esp. w/ the lime green mickey heads (paint samples from Home Depot) are for other DISers to say, hey, another fellow Diser! The signs make it a little easier to find your stateroom. Some DISers' even play tag w/ a magnetic green mickey head while cruising.

I found this on one of the threads about magnetic door signs. I had planned to do one for our cabin and my DS' cabin anyway.

What caught my attention was the comment about 'playing tag'. This sounds cool but I want to know if anyone else is interested. Let me know. I can make the green 'tag' and start. To make this happen we all will need door signs.

BUMP

Happy Election Day!

Our final payment papers came in the mail today! It's getting close. We'll make the final payment on Monday with our Disney VISA card then pay it off in 30 days so we'll get some points off this deal too. Wooohoooo!!! You gotta love free enterprise.

We get to book excursions in a couple of days, so whats everybody thinking about booking? We want to do the snorkle tour over at St. John but we kind want to do our own thing on the other islands.

Chris

Welcome to the cruise, cmesq61! I'll add your family to the cruise line on pg. 16.

Musicdude, our clan is looking to do St. John as well, also looking at doing Pinel Island at St. Martin.

Can't wait to book our excursions. Only 9 weeks tomorrow!!:bounce:

Thanks for the welcome! The info from all you verterans is so helpful. I am madly XMAS shopping--my kids are all getting cruise related stuff as gifts. (Really just an excuse for me to get into vacation mode now).

pirate:
Brack....just read on another web site that they most likely will be doing a Pirates of the Caribbean dining experience (kind of like a character breakfast) where you interact. They give out badanas and rolled maps as menus...could be alot of fun for you all. arrrrrh. Have fun for me and Molly pirate:

cmesq61, welcome! Ask any questions you need and make sure you read the boards often to get great ideas. Glad you are coming with us.

brack, I'd love to play door tag. I too was planning on making door signs for our room and my friend Lisa's as well. I did get us reservations at All Star Sports for Jan. 6th and 7th. I've never stayed there but I hear from everyone that our boys will love it.

Lisa, thank you for adding Lisa's name to the list.
I'm getting so excited everyone!
Staci

Has anyone had a problem with the mom's last name being different from the kids? Seems like it should be OK as my name (w/ diifferent last name) and their names are on their birth certificates, but just want to head off any problems. Also, can anyone explain the short version of the intricacies of boarding? Which line is for which sign-up, etc. We will not be doing Palo, but my sis & are going to do something in the spa (maybe rainforest?) & I will sign the kids up for kids club. Any veteran cruisers have thoughts on the week long wine program? The bottle at your table every evening? Thanks in advance.

:Pinkbounc  :bounce: I am SOOOOOO excited, doing the paid off dance. Now I cannot wait for my docs to come. I am looking so forward to this trip and meeting everyone. Sixty days and counting.

I do think of little Sophie so often, it seems I sometimes cannot get her out of my mind. This is great and so fun but I am so very grateful that I have this opportunity and am able to enjoy it with my son and husband.

Don't know what excursions we are doing but as luck would have it some very good friends of ours will be in St. Maarten at the same time we are (they stay there every year for two weeks) so we are going to meet them and have lunch and shop, St. Thomas I think we are just going to go to the beach and Castaway Key well my husband wants to parasail and my DS (5 yrs old) and I want to do the water trikes so just being in the warm tropical weather will be fun. It is supposed to go down to 20 degrees here in little Rhode Island tonite!!!!! Disney Magic here we come!!!!

Talk to you all soon.

Marylee
