January 6, 2013 Dream cruise

HELLO FELLOW CRUISERS!!!!
I just wanted to say hiii!
As of 830pm last night, my mother, aunt and I are officially booked on this cruise! WOOT!!!!!!! :cool1:
Better late than never, right?!? haha.

We are booked in one of the conceirge suites on deck 11, (took the last one. THAT was a close call lol.) SOOO happy. I can't wait, because my mother and her sister haven't had a vacation since my mother was 13? so uhmm.... 40 years ago. And it makes me SO sad to hear that.

BUT, now all is better because it will be the three of us, and they get to spend an entire 4 days with each other haha.

I'm so excited, if you couldn't tell. :dance3:

A little about us, this will be my mother and I's 5th cruise, 3rd on the Dream, the last being just a mother-daughter cruise this past January. This will be my Aunt's 2nd cruise, with her last one being on the Magic? Wonder? in 2004. (Time flies for me, and I can't remember which one we all went on first. I blame my dogs of the same names for my forgetfulnes lol.)

Only sad thing about booking so late, was that I am unable to book Palo dinner ressies for the 3 of us on the night I want, but could book two. My mother said all three or no, but I feel terrible because my Aunt hasn't been to Palo, and I think she would LOVEEE it. So I might secretly book it for just them, and have them go and have some sister bonding time. pixiedust:
And that way I can have me time. And taste my way through the drink menu without looks... :duck: hehe.

I'm hoping though, that I can book Palo brunch on board. My mom has been researching all the concierge benefits and one of them is talking to the Palo head server or whatnot, but that's all on her. I'm just excited to be on the ship!! I was never one for super special treatment. I feel so odd sometimes even with Disney's known stellar special treatment to each of their guests. ha.

Anywho, I'm excited that we all have only 61 more days to go before we set sail!! =)

You should be alright. I'd book the table for 2 now and change it onboard, when it might be easier than trying to get a table with nothing previously booked. But I still anticipate few problems. I believe they hold some spaces back anyway, for Concierge (and people they like the look of, lol) so I don't anticipate a problem.

How selfish of me! :headache:
I completely forgot to mention, that my amazingly wonderful Aunt PAID for the entire vacation. Flight and cruise! :cheer2: Only thing that has to be paid for is the Hyatt stay the night prior, and I'm going to pay for that.

I am truly blessed to have family such as her who already does so much for my parents and I. She claims she did this though for herself as much as she's doing it for my mother and me. :grouphug:

I saw a question earlier about a FB page for this cruise...has one been put up yet? I would be glad to do it if others are interested!

So excited for the fish extenders. We have already picked out what we are doing....and ordered our FE. for those of you veteran cruisers, does anything ever get stolen out of the pockets....and do the fish extenders themselves ever get stolen. Any precautions we should take against this....like bringing in the FE's at night?

Hi everyone. We will be sailing with you all for our son's make a wish trip! This is our first cruise. We would love to join in for the fe if that is ok. It would be two adults and DS 7, DS 4 (our make a wish child.) We are in stateroom 8562.

We got off the Fantasy yesterday morning. It was our fifth cruise. We did FEs for three of them. I don't think anything has been taken...but there's no way to tell. My first impression is to say I truly don't think that's been a problem. We had thirty cabins in the FE exchange on the Fantasy..our FE had gifts hanging out of it most of the time!

Hello all! Anybody staying at Beach Club before cruise? I'm still wondering about WdW - Port Canaveral trip. Also, we are going back to WdW after cruise to Coronado Springs.

Still curious! We can share a car...

I am on facebook every 20 minutes or so, so would love a page :)

Here is the latest FE list. Will close it out on Dec 1st so everyone has time to get things organized. I don't think there will be any problem with theft - part of the Disney magic :)

Just came back from Hong Kong Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea. Amazing trip!! My husband and I finished a dream of visiting every Disney park in the world this calendar year - how are we celebrating...by going on this Disney cruise of course :)

Can't wait to see everyone on board. I have tons of pics from Paris Disney and the Asia ones on facebook if we set up a page. If not, happy to share experiences on board the ship as well.

Less than 2 months!!! :cheer2:

I just wanted to say hello to everyone and introduce our crew: Me, DH, DS9, and DD7. Our family loves Disney! We took the kids last January and loved it so much we rebooked while onboard. The great thing this time is that my parents are coming and staying in the cabin next to us!:cool1:

Last year I spent so much time on the boards, but I've been so busy that I haven't had a chance to log on until now. Since I'm not too crafty, we might not do the FE. I will certainly let you know by Dec. 1st if we are in.

Woo Hoo! Can't wait to sail!! Our family needs the rest and relaxation :)

Wouldn't it be better if it was a closed FB group, not just a fan page? JMO.

Hello, Cassondra ! I'm so glad your family is able to make this trip - I read your reports about your son's amazing health journey and am glad he's doing so well now. Your son's are both such adorable young men and Shawn-Brooklyn has the BEST smile - it could light up a room ! My husband and I have sailed on the Dream twice but this will be the first cruise with our granddaughters so we are super excited. We don't have much experience with the kid's club areas but if you have any other questions about the ship or the general activities just ask away ---- we're counting the days until this trip ! Debbie

Got off the phone with the concierge team this morning, and was able to recieve everything I had wanted but was unable to get since booking so late.

I am THRILLEDDDD beyond belief that they were so accomodating. I felt so bad though for making all these requests (only 4 but still that's a LOT in my eyes) but she assured me it was no problem, and not to feel bad. It wouldn't have been a big deal to me if I couldn't get ANYTHING, the only request I really wanted (and kind of needed) was the main dining, and she came through. =)

This is why I love Disney. As long as you're kind, and understanding they're extremely helpful. <3

Thanks Debbie! We are all very excited.

I posted some pics from our last Disney Dream cruise in Jan 2012 on our facebook page. I also included a picture of our Fish Extender. Hope everyone is doing well! It is cold here in MN, looking forward to some warm Florida weather in less than 2 months!

Woo hoo! Someone who's sailed in January! Insights to the weather? Were you able to enjoy the water?

We found the weather to be pleasant. Not too hot or too cold. I think Pirate Night was a little breezy. Our Castaway Cay day was chilly and overcast in the morning, so I wore a sweatshirt. It did clear up in the afternoon. I headed out to Pelican Plunge and thought the water was cold, but there were plenty of adults and kids in the water.

FYI the weather channel app on my phone does have Castaway Cay, The Bahamas as a place you can save. Tomorrow's forecast high is 81! I keep checking that so I know what to pack. :thumbsup2

Hopefully we'll have good weather again.
