January 6, 2013 Dream cruise

Hey, the FishExtenders sounds like a lot of fun; however, we're on the 12th Deck in Concierge with a key required to enter the hallway. I guess we're out of luck, right?

I am not sure, maybe someone else knows the answer....never been up to the concierge level.

Only 104 days till the cruise!!!! :cool1:

Looks like there's one more in our group on the Concierge Level ... just a couple of door down from us.

My girls are 3 1/2, will be 4 in February, and I'm pretty confident they'll enjoy the kids' club and activities on board and we'd be happy to email you (or facebook maybe?) to "introduce" each other :) They are used to playing with their older cousins so I think they'd do great with your DD!

That sounds great! My older daughter will be excited to hear the news. I'll check with my wife to see which method she wants to use and I'll get in contact with you.

Thanks!

Hi all,

Our travel plans have changed and we will now be on the Dream the week after the 1/6/13 cruise. My family and I were looking forward to meeting you and exchanging FE gifts, so I'm sad about that. Unfortunately I will have to ask that you remove us from the FE group. :(

Here's hoping you all have a really fun time on your cruise! Fair winds and following seas!

Do we do something for each person....or for each room?

For the FE people - I think it is up to you if you want to do something for each cabin or each person. Last time I did a separate bag of goodies for each person, but this required a whole suitcase just for FE goodies!

This time I think I will go for a gift per cabin, but if there is a kid, try to add some fun things for them.

I remember last time I went I gave a separate bag for each person filled with about 8 different gifts - some families who had 2 cabins with 8 total people got 8 different bags of stuff, and then I got a tootsie roll from them in return - that was it from both cabins :rotfl: It made my suitcase light coming home ;)

I felt initially upset which was really stupid as this is all for fun and a way to meet people - no one should be ashamed of how much they give! Just enjoy the cruise and participate as you see fit!

I need a break from work, been way too long since a vacation. 93 days away :cheer2:

I know there are at least a few on this cruise that are also going on the DVC Member Cruise immediately following this. I was wondering if there would be any interest in doing a Secret Mickey exchange, or maybe a craft exchange? I have done the FE in the past, but our group was very small (5-6 families). I just don't have the time (or luggage space) to produce large quantities of gifts. But I thought if we could do an exchange where we could bring one or two gifts, and/or a craft exchange, that would be manageable. Since the member cruise is so jam-packed, we could do the exchange while we were waiting to re-board the ship. Any interest?

Hi all, my family will be on this cruise -- we're cruising with a group of 13. We haven't decided if we want to do the FE and all that yet. Is it too late to join?

I just wanted to add, someone in an earlier post was asking about car rental codes and I just wanted to share what we are doing. We fly in on that Friday night and are staying 2 nights at Pop Century, so we are taking the Magical Express from the airport. Then the day of the cruise, we are going to the Car Care Center at MK maingate and renting a car with Alamo. The week long rental, (we go home on the 13th) picking up the car at Disney and then returning it to MCO is only $150. Price it out. For some reason, renting a car at Disney and then returning it to MCO is very inexpensive.

Wow! Great tip! Indeed very inexpensive!
But you are considering then to left the car at Port Canaveral parking? Or there is a Alamo there? For a 4 day cruise parking would be around $100, right?
Thank you

Not too late to join the FE :) Just let me know your cabin and I will add it if you are interested. We will probably end the FE list around December 1st.

Does this cruise have a Facebook page? If so, could someone provide me the link or title? Thank you!

Never thought about having a Facebook page as well. I don't think there is one out there, but if someone wanted to start one I am game. Nice to see pics of people before the cruise!

Parking would be expensive if you are parking at the terminal. We are going to use Park and Cruise for $5.99 a day, which still makes the cost justifiable. There is also an Alamo there, but for some reason their rates to pick up a car at PC and then drop it off at MCO are much higher. My only guess is that Alamo must have a surplus of cars from WDW that they need to get back to the airport.

I may have to look into this. Driving would certainly get us to the ship faster than the ME.

This cruise is coming up fast now! I booked the Remy champagne brunch for our day at sea. I'm having trouble finding reviews. Also booked a Cabana massage at CC.

So excited!! I just booked my family on the Dream! Please add us to the FE list!! That sounds like a blast!! My crew is myself (mom), Dd (16), ds (14), and dd(6). This is my kids first cruise and I'll be surprising them on Christmas. Any ideas on that? I'm planning to have many items they will need as gifts to open. A new suitcase, sunglasses, etc, but exactly how to tell them... Idk. We did an amazing scavenger hunt two years ago with them and cousins to learn of a whole family trip to disney world. It was so perfect, I have a lot to live up to!

Wondering what to expect as far as weather? Will it be swim weather (at least for the kids?) what type clothes will we need? Shorts, etc with warmer for evening maybe?

Hello all! Anybody staying at Beach Club before cruise? I'm still wondering about WdW - Port Canaveral trip. Also, we are going back to WdW after cruise to Coronado Springs.
