Hi all,
I'm new to this, so please forgive me if I'm doing something wrong. But we booked the Wonder for 1/4/2015 and I would love to find out who else will be there. It will be my husband and myself, and our 2 kids who will be 7 and 4 when we sail.

This will be this kids first cruise, and for my husband and I it will be our first Disney Cruise. We are all super excited, especially after this never-ending winter here in New England.

Can't wait to meet some others who will be on the ship too! And to get some more ideas of what to expect from some more seasoned DCL cruisers.

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list pixiedust:
Have a great cruise!

Yay! You did it! Thanks for getting this started :) Where are you in New England? I grew up in Boston area, but now live in Southern California. My kids will be 8 and almost 5 when we cruise. So excited!:cool1:

We're in RI, about an hour and a half from Boston. Our girls will be 4 and 7 for the cruise and they're already so excited! I just booked our flight there tonight and got a great rate, which makes it that much more real!

My family and I are also on the Wonder sailing Jan 4! Jen, my daughter will be 7 as well. Good to meet you!

I should add that this is our 4th DCL cruise but first on the Wonder.

I'm so glad you both are sailing with ones who are in my oldest's age range! We'll be in school during that week, but are pulling her for the trip. I was worried that there may not be many kids in her age range! She's already excited to head to the kids club to meet new friends. My youngest is excited too, but she plays just as well solo as she does with other kids.

My husband and I are excited for some adult time while on vacation! This will be a whole new experience, and I'm so excited for it!

My older daughter is in college and still on break during that time. It's not ideal to pull our youngest out of school but we are. We used to take our family vacation in March when my daughter's had the same spring break but we found January a much cheaper time to go.

We are from Minnesota so we need a break during winter too! Your family will have a blast on the trip!

We are so lucky that we will have that week off next year. ( I am a teacher at my son's elementary school.) Our school district just changed our calendar, and our winter break will now be 3 weeks long. This made going on a Disney Cruise so much more affordable for us!

I am a single mom, and in need of a real vacation. A cruise just seemed like the easiest option for us to have a vacation together, and for me to get a break too!

I am thinking of booking a flight today too. I have one on a 24 hour-hold, but wondering if I can get a better deal. Nonstop out of LA for 360. Hmmm...

Hello! We booked this cruise back on the Magic in January and we finally decided that we will be keeping it!!! We have dh and me and our four kids - Ds18, Ds17, Ds14, and Dd8.

Seems like there are a couple other little girls!

We homeschool, so there isn't any concern there! My oldest will be on break from college still, so this is the perfect time to sail for us!

Yay! More people, and looks like there will be at least a few kiddos in the same age range. From this thread it looks like it may be a fairly small sailing lol.

We sailed on the Magic this January and it felt nearly empty. It was great! We were on the Fantasy last September and it was absolutely PACKED! We couldn't MOVE for the deck parties. We had a great time, but we love the smaller, less crowded ships.

So, where is everyone staying the night before?

We're flying into FLL the night before and have a hotel booked there. I was able to get great rate at Comfort suites and cruise port. We also have a one way car rental booked from the airport to drop at Port of Miami the next day. Since we don't get in until after 9 pm I think we'll stay close to the airport vs. driving to Miami that night. I keep checking hotel rates in case something better pops up, but so far I've got the best there's been.

I did want to stay closer to port, but I think it would be too much on the kids. I would rather get them to bed since they'll probably barely sleep anyway! Plus I figure driving in the dark in an area I know nothing about seems like a recipe for disaster.

I usually really like the Comfort Suites. Big enough for all of us. I was hoping to find something on the beach and stay for two nights. We've never been to Miami before and would like a couple days to see it. I have points at a couple of chains and I hope to be able to book for free! We'll see though.

Jennifer, who did you book through for the hotel and car? We are going on our first cruise in March 2015 on the Wonder. I would also like to fly into FLL the night before and stay close to port. I have been doing some research and haven't decided if we will stay in Ft. Lauderdale or Miami. Luckily, I have a lot of time to plan.

Hi everyone!:wave2: My name is Ashley and I am fairly new to the site. After months of trying to convince my family and friends to take a trip involving anything Disney my friend FINALLY agreed!:cool1: After leaving me to make all the decisions I decided on Disney Wonder for January 4th sailing date (due to us still being on our college break). I am so excited for this trip and unfortunately instead of studying for finals I am on here researching. Again I just wanted to say hi!

Hello Ashley! My college son will be with us on this cruise for the same reason - he's still on break. I was so excited to find a trip that works for our entire family. What year in school are you and what are you studying?

I am finishing up my second year and working towards my BA in nursing (just one more week of finals). Unfortunately because the size of my family it would be expensive for all of us to go, and since none of us have been on a cruise I will be the first one testing it out. :) I am hoping to convince them to go on one eventually.

For cars I used http://www.carrentalsavers.com/ they seemed to have the best deals. For hotel I used booking.com. I was able to get a room for about $150 with taxes, and right now that about $100 less than anything decent that's out there.

Welcome Ashley! We're going in that time frame because I'll be off of school too. However, I'm a more "experienced" college student. :rotfl2:

Nothing wrong with that! I have always preferred studying with the adult group because they generally take college a lot more seriously then the kids who just graduated from high school. College isn't cheap and I want to make every cent count. (guess that's just my nerd side coming out :)

In terms of pirate night though does anyone know if it will be on the second night for us or the third night? For some reason my reservation says both days.

I'm also trying to figure out the best day to schedule my Palo dinner reservations, any ideas?
