JANUARY 27, 2007 "PAL MICKEY" Western Magic ROLL CALL

brady961 made up big buttons with the Mickey head, cruise name and date, user name and real first name, and little character stickers on it. She did them for me, DisGal520, ThePhantomsGirl and herself. Actually there are two each - one for the DIS and one for our MagicalDisney Community. I will probably attach them to my carry-on bag and they should be quite visible. Throughout the cruise I will be wearing my WDW Chip 'n' Dale name tag that reads "Taswira."

Speaking of names: I want to let everyone know that I almost never remember anyone's name. I will remember your face and nearly every word you say to me, except your name, be it user or real. So ANY name tags will be appreciated.

Taswira - I got em. I was thinking little buttons - (we've done so much with Pal Mickey size things in preparation).

so brady don't panic. Both are right in front of me now. But this gives me an idea.......wonder if I can find a way to make miniatures for the PMs?????

Yes, Lime green is a Dis color - we won't be wearing that color though - yikes!

Yes. One popular way DIS members recognize each other is by getting the "Alien Green" (lime green) Mickey head paint swatch from Home Depot and either punching a hole in it to hang on a lanyard or bag, or laminating it, often writing their DIS user name on it. If you see that, it's a DISer for sure. You can't really go by just anyone on the cruise or at the Disney parks wearing lime green though, as in t-shirts or hats. etc. So often I've asked people at WDW because they are "dressed the part" and it turns out they have never heard of the DIS. I've been embarrassed many times but usually people are okay with being approached. Now if the lime green t-shirt actually says "DIS" then it's safe to assume - LOL.

I'll stick to my "Ariel's Afternoon Swim" teal for MDC. It looks better on me than lime green!

Yeah, I plan on dropping by Home Depot sometime and picking up some extra tags (I mean paint chips) - I'm using them for my doorsign too..

I have one of the lime green DIS shirts and I was thinking of wearing it the first morning/day. (don't happen to have a Teal MDC shirt...) Was thinking of getting the paint chip for the MDC (MagicalDisneyBoard)

I also have a WDW nametag with my name (Holly) as well as some buttons Brady made. And of course I'll have my Pal Mickey with me most of the time! DO feel free to approach me and say "hi"!

Haven't done door signs yet. Would be cute to get the mickey ears outline and do a set in both the teal and the lime green with names/user names on them - so I may attempt that one.

I am doing something each day to get packed/ready for the cruise. (including safely guarding that passport and making sure it comes with me!) Actually had started last week going through clothes and items. My goal is to be pretty much done by one week from today - the Wednesday before. That way on the Thursday I can do the fun stuff like getting a manicure/pedicure rather than last minute running around at Walmart or something! I'm considering Friday the start as I'll be going to Taswira's and I definitely don't want to be doing any running around other than sharing the pre-cruise excitement!

10 days!!!! Tomorrow we'll be doing the single digit dance!!!!!!

Ha-ha - Well If you do end up needing to run around for anything that evening, to get to either Walmart or a nice (reltively new) Super Target you go out the front gate, turn right and drive just a few miles. Straight shot on that road!

There is no official shirt for the MDC, but I'll probably wear a top that is the dark teal color. That is what I'd like to be wearing for the embarkation photo, but I may change my mind. I don't own any lime green clothing because I look dreadful in that color.

An idea for those without the paint swatch or shirt: I have a little lime green nylon cat collar that is easily attached to a bag, belt, wrist, etc. I have had it for years and it is still holding up well.

well I like the lime green. I have a nice pair of summer slacks and top in that shade and will most likely be taking them. With the red hair I have always loved the bright colors.

My Pal has so far decided on a few potential meet activity locations and times. They are posted on the "Planned Meets" page of our Pal Mickey Gathering at Sea website. Take a look (please?). I will add at least a few more on other days.

We will arrive at DW at 7 PM on Friday night and then attend the Pirate and Princess Party until 12:30 AM. Then on Saturday we will get to meet all of you. Yeah!!!! Palo just called to get me to book a dinner which I did for Tuesday evening. We already had brunch ressies for Thursday. Are these good days for Palo?

Unfortunately still no document dance for us UPS sent our cruise docs to our TA on two different days. One arrived one didn't. According to our TA UPS rerouted the second set and it went back to DCL and had to be sent again Hopefully they show up tomorrow. The TA asked if we wanted them Fed Ex'd when the second set arrives. I told her we would make the 50 mile round trip just to have them in our hot little hands! We need pixie dust!!!

We are getting excited with anticipation as the big day draws near and it made me wonder how he is doing and also how his dad is doing. Maybe my wife and I can buy you guys a drink on the ship. I know my wife can truly empathize with his situation. She so deserves this cruise with all that has gone on and is going on with her own parents.

You are so sweet to think of us. My DH is doing fine and his father is doing better - still he seems to have aged 10 years in about 1 month. Its hard when you see your parent go from mowing his own yard and doing everything around the house to having a hard time just walking out to get the mail. Life can change that fast. We are so happy though that he is still with us and we are able to enjoy his company. Thank you for your thoughts and if we do meet up on the ship - we'll buy you a drink and you can buy us one - maybe we will be able to walk afterwards ! THANKS!! Only 9 more days - YIPPEEEEEE!

Nothing personal against the lime green. It just does NOT look good on ME.

The lime green doesn't do a whole lot for me either. My DD7 would wear it but there would be **** to pay if I made my DS11 wear an "uncool" lime green shirt - I am not so sure my DH would appreciate it either. I think when I get some ribbon for my door I will get lime green to curl and put it on my handbag. That way at least some of you will be able to recognize us. See you real soon!
