January 25, 2009 on the WONDER

We also booked Palo for that night! But we are a little later - 7:30 I think - not sure if we will keep it though - we'll wait and see how our youngest does in the club.

On the 4 night, the 2nd & 3rd night you repeat a restaurant. For example, on our last 4 night in January our rotation was PTTA. At that time, the 3rd night was pirate night for us but the pirate party didn't start until about 9:45 or so.

Yes, DCL's pricing is rather high on most excursions -you can do much better booking them on your own!

You can usually do much better booking some excursions by yourself rather than on the ship. Since we've been to Nassua before, we're taking it easy and taking over the ship..:lmao:

I did find a Pirate Museum down the street that just opened and I think we'll go there and then go shopping. We may find some more items for our pirate costumes. ARGGGG...

Ok, a little late, but here is the final list - we just need to add cabin numbers as you get them...

melsherard - 4 people (2 DD's 7 & 10)
pumba's dad - 4 people (DD 12, DS 14) (stateroom 8076)
texasgal74 - 5 people (3DD's 11, 10, 8)
samily - 5 people (DD 11, DS 7, DS 4)
jennyh2829 - 3 people (DD 8)
tammythetwinsmom - 5 people (DDtwins 7, DD 5) (stateroom 8502)
ganandem - 4 people (DD 7, DS 10)
mintee - 4 people (DDtwins 6)

Ok one more question...will the kids be missing out if we go to Palos on Pirate night? What do they do special in the dining room?

Last time we went they have a different menu and the servers did a pirate "parade" through the restaurant. Also they gave us pirate bandanas....that's all I can remember;)

:goodvibes myself and 15 of my closest friends will be on board. 8 adults, 8 kids, the oldest 12, the youngest 3 are 5ish.
It is the first time for my family to cruise, first Disney cruise for all.

smae concerns about the weather, my friends think I am nuts, we live in WI! I just do not want to commit to all H2O activities and freezing my behind off.:yay: :yay: :yay:
we are all prety pumped to go, booked some stuff aftermidnight last night and early am
catch up with you again?

HI everyone.. yes double checking what we want to do here too! Got the kids signed up today as we were finally allowed! Getting closer! hooray  :cool1: :thumbsup2

Welcome Mismal!
I don't think there is anything crazy about leaving Wisconsin in January to go to the Bahamas! I think that is smart:goodvibes

So what has everyone figured on doing after the cruise? If you are going to Disney how are you getting there and what time do you think we can get there? Is it really slow getting off the ship? If we get a limo what time should we ask them to be there? I'd love to hear what everyone else's plans are! Thanks.. boy I've got 3 things on my black friday list to get already luckily they are all stores close to each other too!! wahoo:cool1:

We're getting right back on the ship and I can't wait!!! :woohoo:

In the past, it has always been quick getting off the ship - if you don't want to go to your assigned breakfast (your time is determined by which dinner seating you have), the buffet is also open. Last January we needed to be on the road & we were off the ship and at the car rental place by 8am. They want everyone off the ship by 9.

Welcome Mismal!! I too definitely think the Bahamas beats Wisconsin in January! :)

thanks for the hello!!
our plans post cruise are to hang at a hotel until Sat, some will do the space center, I myself will be happy to shop or be at the pool (indoor or out)...space is just not my thing. One of the guys is an engineer...multiple explanations (?unwanted).

we were able to get our Palo dinner for Wed night, but 4 at one time, 4 at another. we hope to change it on board. I still need to sign up my mini Mal's (DD age 12, DS age 5)

kids (and me) are getting psyched!

How's everyone this week? Gearing up for a big next two weeks.. Checking those Black Friday lists!!

Boy I am more excited about our cruise than Christmas!! I did get some presents today though! We are going to Disney on ice on January 10th so that will be a prelude of what is to come on the cruise!! :cool1: :yay:

Yes, I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week - Christmas will be here before we know it & then the cruise!!!!

We're going to probably do the space center, depending on the $$$ situation... We have a 7:30 pm flight, so we have some time to burn

Yesterday we got some Christmas shopping done... I told my husband this is the most I have ever had done shopping- wise before Thanksgiving... I'm really ahead of the game this year. It feels great! We are really looking forward to the holidays this year!

Hello from the Frozen South... :)

Yes, it's cold and snowing in the NC Mountains right now. I can't remember the last time it was this cold this early in the season.

Lots of deals for next friday. Hope you all have a good thanksgiving, and if your down this way, stop by for some Fried Turkey.

Thats great you all are able to shop so early. It is going to be light Xmas for us as we are trying to save money for this vacation...who knew disney tickets would be soo expensive?!
I told the twins that Santa would only be bringing one or two presents each...we will see how that goes.....

It is so cold that the cruise would be perfect right about now...

Tammythetwinsmom- We are going to Disney on Ice on Jan. 10th too! It is my daughters 7th birthday. We have tickets to the 11am show. It is just the thing to get us even more excited for the trip!

We are heading home after the cruise, but we are spending 3 nights in the area before the cruise. We are still debating between Sea World, Universal, or Blizzard Beach. I don't think we will even decide until we get there and see the weather. We have been going to Disney every yearfor the past few years, so we are looking for a few different things to do. Anyone have any other suggestions? I don't think our daughter would enjoy Kennedy Space Center although my son would love it. We will have to keep thinking. Another thing to consider is that we will have both of our mothers along for the ride. I am sure whatever we decide will fun. And hey, we won't be freezing in upstate NY or at work!!!:goodvibes

ganandem - ahh man we are going to the 3pm otherwise we could have met!! It is the perfect thing to get us geared up and a great present which I don't have to wrap haha we are taking a crew with us and that will be their :santa: presents as well:woohoo:

I have limited our presents this year as well.. just a few things ...besides my girls never really play with toys (they are dress up girls or outside!!) so it's crazy to buy stuff that doesn't get used but one time!! That drives me nuts:sick: I agree disney tix are expensive and we are doing a 2 day park hopper for 5 people yikes!!:scared1:

We've already been sledding here! We don't have a lot of snow but expecting more this weekend! This early chill is getting to me already!!

Sorry we just miss you at the show! I will agree that we were spoiled by the nice fall and I was just not ready for winter. It does look like we will be sledding this weekend. That lake effect gets us every time!
