January 25, 2009 on the WONDER

HA HA! Word travels fast!

I will say, we played Bingo almost every game, and we lost... we lost bad. We finally caved and got one of the bingobots in the last game. Boy, am I glad we did!! We were not even close to winning by the time the $5000 jackpot chance passed. Then, all of a sudden, boom...

We had an interesting experience at the Vista spa that morning, and I was in a mood as a result. I am so glad my birthday included that Bingo win. We've never won anything!

We met a lot of fantastic cast members and even saw a couple we met last cruise, which was really nice. We've had Peter, the cruise director, twice now, and it's always nice to see his familiar face.

The Florida portion of our trip was C-O-L-D (this coming from a girl living in New Hampshire!), but the cruise portion was perfect. And I think my parents had a wonderful time their first cruise too!

Thank you! It was *much* needed. Trying to pay off the wedding and a mortgage has made it very difficult to live even paycheck to paycheck. This will help. A lot.

Jenn,

We didn't officially meet, but I was in the last day of bingo. My DW dragged me down there. Then when they said a newly wed won and I saw you and your husband, I told my wife, they are on the DIS. She just laughed.

But Congrats on winning. If you pm me your address, I have something to send to you that I had on the ship to give you, but again we never crossed paths and you were busy at bingo.. :)

We're in the process of planning our next trip. I'd love one to the Med on the Magic, but don't think that will happen unless I win the Mega Lottery down this way.

Hi guys! :wave2:

We also had a great time & it was nice to meet everyone! Thanks to everyone for the great FE gifts! I didn't tell the kids about the FE exchange so it was a fun surprise for them! pixiedust:

Everything was perfect until night 3 when my son went to bed complaining of a sore throat & then woke up in the night with a high fever. Ended up taking him to the health center in the morning and he spent the day in bed :sad1: We missed our Palo brunch - I think I am destined to never get brunch as we haven't been able to get there on any of our cruises!

So glad we had a perfect CC day as we ended up not being able to dock on the 3 day :sad2:

Very cool that a DIS'r won at Bingo! Congrats Jenn!

We rebooked onboard for the same time next year on the Western.

Back to the real world today...

I actually had several people come up to me on the cruise and say, Hi! I've seen you on the DIS! None of them were actual posters, though... they just lurked with no IDs. It's a shame, because I'd love to say hi to them on here... Hi people I met!

Oh no! That's terrible. I'm so sorry he wasn't feeling well. That's a bad way to end the cruise for all of you.

I have to admit, we were really spoiled last year, getting to go to Castaway Cay twice. I think they should swap the day at sea with Castaway Cay... once you go there, the day at sea seems like a letdown.

Thank you!

Is it just me or did Disney really inflate cruise prices? I looked last night and found that the cruise we took last January has more than doubled in cost, and compared to this one, next year's is $1500 more! We were thinking of doing that Western at the same time next year, but it's just way too much money. Even with Disney's 10% off incentive, it's too much. We'll have to stick to going to WDW after our November cruise this year.

Just wanted to say it was great to meet all of you and wished I could have spent more time with all of you. I also got to meet Jenn at the check in at the resort bus...Hi...

My DD loved all her FE gifts and is still steadily going through all of it! Thanks so much for your generosity.... Maybe we'll meet again....

Hi everyone! We are definitely wishing we were back on the boat. It is always so hard to come back to all of the laundry and the cooking. Our son (who is 11) actually asked me to cut his meat for him last night like our waiter did every night.:rotfl2: Luckily neither of the kids have picked up the phone to call room service to order Mickey ice cream bars. Its so hard to get back to reality! Thank you all so much for the great goodies in the fish extenders. It was so much fun going back to the room to check for gifts. :)

hey another quick question did anyone get pirate bandana's or whatever on pirate night at dinner like they said they used to do? We didn't get any...

You need to upload your pictures to a website, be it photobucket or a site you host. Then you copy the link to that picture. There's an icon above the posting window... it looks like a mountain with a sun above it. You click on that, and you paste the link in between those tags, like:

They suspended the bandanas recently, so no bandanas for us. But if you want them, Oriental Trading sells them cheaply, in bulk. :)

Speaking of photos....

Wow! Thanks for posting the pic! We were such a large group
SO this makes my first and only pic from the cruise, so thank you for that

Our kids did get bandanas for pirate night..they were given out in the kids club for the "so you want to be a pirate" activity. They were pink and black

Anyone ever make it to the adult area? We went the last night...and it was dead...

Nichole and I would like to say what a great time we had meeting everyone and on the cruise in general. This was our first cruise and we are excited to be getting married on the Magic in September. We are already going back and forth about which cruise to take in 2010. Nichole wants another Caribean and I want the WB Transatlantic. I hope whichever one that maybe we can see some of you again. I'll be the guy wearing the Steelers jerseys (including the SB XLIII one from Tampa). Our 2 highlights were Toy Story and Drazen from Palo - the best waiter on Earth. :goodvibes

You know... I'm a cake decorator....maybe you should bring me along on your cruise and I can make your cake... :rotfl:

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Did you enjoy the ribeyes on the adult beach that day? It was fun bumping into you guys there by the tram...

I actually thought next to Palo that was the best meal of the entire trip. Thanks for pointing those out to us. We were heading back to the ship to eat. Please no more cake talk, Nichole keeps talking to me about her cake selection and my only honest opinion is "put a piece in front of me and I will eat it" :mickeybar

So does anyone have any other general pics from their cruise I can steal?lol

I saved a bunch from Melissas trip report...I would love some from the beach or pics from the boat or just anything...sigh...I am still not over not having pics!!
