January 25, 2009 on the WONDER

[qoute]We got our cruise documents yesterday, but my mom and mother-in-law were not included. Will theirs come separately? We have myself, hubby and our daughter in our room. Our son is listed in the "grandmas" room. His documents came separate from ours, and theirs never came. Anyone know if this is a problem?[/quoute]

if they booked seperately, they may get their documents seperately. If you booked together, then I'd check on it. If you don't get in today's mail, I'd call the travel agent or Disney Cruise.

Finally! Got our docs for this cruise yesterday and the 1/29 cruise today - the one we got today was addressed to Jacob - my DS4- he was quite excited to get mail!

Kate came home sick from school yesterday - she went to the dr today and it is strep throat  All 3 kids have been healthy all winter and less than 2 weeks before we leave they start to get sick!:headache: Better to be sick now and over it by next week I guess...keeping my fingers crossed the boys stay healthy...:wizard:

When is everyone heading down to FL? We are flying down 1/23 and will be at Epcot on 1/24. Only doing that one day in the parks this year...

Yes I have sick kids this week too! At least we will be done with it as well! Thank goodness this week and not next!

We are flying down the 24th early and I think we are doing downtown Disney that afternoon..unless we come up with something else! we aren't staying onsite but have a van so can drive there...

I can't believe we are finally getting closer and closer! :woohoo:

We now have all of our documents. The last ones came yesterday. We are flying down the 22nd and going to Downtown Disney and then dinner at O'Hana so we can watch Wishes. The next day we are trying out Sea World and then Kennedy Space Center on the 24th for a short time. We are staying at Raddison at the port the night before so we are hoping to spend some time in that pool!

We are flying down on the 24th and going to DTD that evening. Cruise on the 25th and then WDW on the 29th -Feb. 1. Woo HOO getting closer...:cool1: almost there!

We are flying down on the 22nd. Will do one of the WDW parks on the 23rd. Inlaws fly in on the 24th - going to DTD for the afternoon and dinner. Then the inlaws fly home on the 29th, but DH, DD and I will be at WDW again the 29th thru Feb 1. :cool1:

jennyh2829/ pskorf and anyone else.. maybe we'll see you at DTD and not know it yet! Not sure where we are going to dinner yet ... do you? :coffee:

Also what parks are you doing? We are going to do Magic Kingdom on Thurs. the 29th and then AK and late afternoon HS on Friday the 30th and we fly out on Saturday :) There are a few things at HS that we want to see but for my young ones not a whole lot there to do.. of course HSM and a few younger things for my 5 year old and star wars for daddy - actually the girls love star wars with him! :cloud9:

In a week, we'll hopefully be on a plane, getting antsy to land!

Consider the below zero temperatures here, I AM READY!

We're flying in the 22nd, driving down to Tampa to do Busch Gardens for a couple of days, then staying at the Radisson the night before!

Has anyone been looking at the weather? So far, I think it looks really good. I know that can change, though. Anything will be better than the temps we are at right now... we're almost below 0 and I don't like it!

I will admit I've been looking daily, though weather can change at the drop of a dime.

Right now, we're looking at low 70s for Orlando, mid- to high 70s for Nassau.

YAY!

YES I have been watching the temps and hoping I don't jinx it! I hope it stays in those 70's range! Course coming from 0 degrees to there will feel like we are having a super heat flash! :cool1: I know my kids will be in the water but mama hates cold pools/water so we'll have to see how it feels.. course they said they are heated pools on the ship if the temp falls below 75 for a water temp.. :thumbsup2

Last year, the adult pool was always 82.+. The kids' pool was 83.+. I'm sure they'll be toasty.

I would work out each morning and then jump in the pool. I'm one of those weenies who won't swim if the water isn't over 78 (and even then, I whine :) ), and I was comfortable swimming, even with a cool breeze. It felt great.

So I called today and they confirmed that they will be showing the movie "Bedtime Stories" on board..whoo hoo :cool1: that saves me some money as we were going to go tomorrow since the kids are off of school

I have started to finalize the packing process but I am more perplexed than ever...should we pack mostly jeans and t shirts or have more shorts...the weather in FL says 68-72 and Bahamas says 76-78...thoughts?

wahoo!! Can you say excited!!! I have very excited girls and that includes me! What on earth am I going to do with them tomorrow? They have the day off and they are so wound up arghh!!

What to pack yikes!! good question I hope the weather stays the 70's like it says!! otherwise we might get cold.. but at least we can buy sweatshirts if we need to! :beach:

We're in the process of repacking. We've packed extra jeans and long sleeve shirts. Last year, I had to run to walmart and pick up extra jackets. So we're split about 50/50 on jeans and shorts.

We'll be leaving Wednesday Morning and driving down. Everyone be safe and see you in a few day.

I am a bit forgetful..so you can laugh now.:rotfl2: .but whoever posted our room numbers and days assigned, can you post it again now that we are closer?
I want to print it out now so I can be prepared

Thanks!!!

I'd definitely recommend packing warm stuff... as much as you can. Last year, we packed little, and we spent most of the time (except at Castaway Cay) freezing. In fact, I don't think I wore one pair of shorts the entire trip. It was close to 80 at Castaway Cay last year (same week!), and I still wore thin pants... it helped because the water was cold... I could hop back into the warmer pants!

We packed last night, and I made sure to have at least three pairs of jeans, and then a few pairs of the lighter pants. I cut down on the pairs of shorts. I'd much rather be over-prepared. I remember shivering at the sail-away party because of the wind.

Eek! I wasnt thinking it was going to be that cold!! Does that mean it will be too cold to lay out by the pool?
I never thought the temp would really be an issue ( we went end of Oct/beg of Nov last year) and we were able to wear shorts during the day...we just needed an umbrella because we were cruising during tropical storm Noel lol

Thanks for your feedback!
