January 23, 2010 Sailing with Mickey on the Magic! **The Crusin' DISers**

Hi TraciM,

My family has always cruised in January this will be our 4th (hopefully we will be able to do this one). We have done 2 Eastern's and this last Jan. we did Western, My family went swimming at Grand Cayman and Cozumel. We didn't try at Key West, but the air temp was wonderful. CC is questionable. Our first year nobody in my family went swimming, but others did. Our second year my DD 5 at the time was in for like an hour, but I thought it was very cold. This past Jan. everyone was in the water. We had great weather and the water at CC was pretty warm for us. There were many people swimming and snorkeling. Just a side note though many excursions were cancelled at CC because of wind. There was a nasty cold front coming in the night we left.
I hope this info helps you, if you have any more questions I would be happy to answer them for you.

Thanks! It helps alot. I had already guesses CC would be a big ???? I guess we will have to wait and see. I am not planning on swimming in Key West so I guess I am good.LOL

How very cool! Thanks for posting the link - I had no idea. My kids will love that. I can see at least one school project coming out of that! :thumbsup2

Completely different topic: On the previous cruise meet the group had been together for 5-6 cruises so they had all kinds of things they did. One really cute one was the fish extenders - is anyone interested in doing that for our cruise?:cheer2:

Sounds fun but I have no clue what to do.LOL This will be our second cruise. I do know that this time around I plan on decorating our door. Thanks’ for the link to the cats. That’s so cool. My kids would love it.

I did the FE exchange on our last cruise it was so fun. The kids loved finding little gifts in our FE. I would like to do it again it is fun. Also it would be good to get use out of the FE I spent so much time making.

Also I would like to add my families info since we have now booked insurance for this cruise it looks like we really will be going unless something terrible happens. We are myself (Teresa) my husband (Kyle) and our two children Tyler (10) and Kaylee (7) (these are their ages at cruise date not now). We will be in cabin #2603. I will send a PM to maryklady as soon as I am done here and give her all this info. just wanted to let everyone else on the board know we are official now.

hey all! sorry and happy at the same time!
we had to cancel this cruise, as we are doing the 11 day mediterranean.
therefore, SPH stateroom #5520 is available again!!!

hope someone grabs it quick. have a great cruise.
michaela.:dance3:

Just wanted to stop by and say hello to my fellow cruise mates.
And a big shout to TraciM who invited me over =)

It's just me and my life partner, on our 10th anniversary.
We're deck 7 room 7121, anyone near us?

Welcome! I read your thread excellent question I had the same one at first! But now I just can't wait!

We are waayyy below you down on 2 - you'll be glad though since we're bring 2 sweet but loud children!:goodvibes

Sounds like a great time! I absolutely love kids.
Are you on the LD or ED? We took LD to try and accommodate parents, we figure it would be easier for us to eat late then the kiddos.

We've got early dining mostly b/c I hate the thought of all that food so close to bedtime. My kids aren't so small anymore that we need it for them. Another thread somewhere had some great reasons for late dining even with children made me wonder if we should change? :confused3 Plenty of time for that I'm sure!

So Fey-spirit what part of the country (ours or another! :goodvibes ) do you live in?

We eat late anyway (generally around 8 or 9) so late works for us on that level as well. I was a little concerned about missing out on midnight buffet type events, but we'll just plan around them. Eat a little less at dinner so we can hit the dessert buffet at the Pirate Party.

We're over in Ky - about half an hour outside of Ft Knox.
And you?

Do they have a different buffet every night? It will be our first 7 day. We did a 4 day in Sept.

Having never sailed before I can't be sure, however I belive based on my research that they have a buffet on Pirate night, and on the last night before the shop returns home...

I'm sure someone with far more knowledge can set me straight.

I am not sure either since I have never done a 7 day before. They had one on Pirate night but that was all. My DS loves the desserts. Every night at dinner he will get it and room service every before he goes to bed.LOL So if there is another buffet he will find it.:rotfl:

Ah another dessert lover... a child after my own heart. :thumbsup2

I fully intend to order a big glass of milk and a pile of cookies from room service every night before bed, talk about getting to re-experience the childhood fantasy I only dreamed of... My inner child plans on having one 7 day long party...

My DS was mesmerized with the food. It started with lunch after we boarded. He loves seafood so he was in heaven with the shrimp. He has every intention of dressing up on formal night so he can order lobster from the adult menu. He ate so much I am shocked he didn’t get sick.LOL :lmao:

Again he sounds like a dude after my own heart...
I hope I get a chance to meet him.

Me? I'm going on a diet starting three days ago, I hope to have dropped about 50 lbs before the cruise, and then intend to pack every one of them back on during my stay at DW and the Cruise... :rotfl2:
