January 2020 Discounts

Yeah, i had the same thing. I wish i could get the info without staying on the phone - its just an enquiry..
if I checked the rack rate and knocked off 40%, do you think that'll be enough to get the total? any other fees/ stuff to include in the total?
You can do that to get an idea, but there's taxes at the end too. For example, my dates have a deluxe studio at $559 per night (rack rate without tax), but my total with 40 percent off is around $378 per night. That's 40 percent off of $559 with the total multiplied by 0.125 for taxes.

This is what I did to get a general idea if it was worth it for us.

Yep, that is consistent with I was quoted when I called an hour ago (1pm EDT). We have to decide between two Deluxe Studios at Riviera vs. One Deluxe CL room at Boardwalk. Riviera is more space, more bathrooms, more beds for our four kids and us, plus I'd want to visit the kids' pool area with the "Fantasia" characters. And we'd save $100/night. But we got Boardwalk so we could walk to Epcot and DHS, with CL as a bonus for feeding, especially our teen DS. The Boardwalk entertainment is a bonus, as is the water view we'll get compared to "standard" (parking lot) view at Riviera.
What would you do?

Thats a tough one. I cant speak for myself, but perhaps ask yourself if you've been to Boardwalk before - do you want a change/ different experience? Or do you prefer the conveniences for the 6 of you that Boardwalk provides?

We've never stayed at a Deluxe, not at WDW or DLR. So it's all new, all a luxury splurge. Our final morning we are dining at 7:30am at the Bon Voyage Breakfast at Trattoria al Forno, so I'm leaning toward staying at BWI for ease of getting there.

This is my exact issue. I have a CL room booked at Yacht Club but Riveria will save us almost 3K. I'm hoping more discounts drop tomorrow for YC and if not I'll probably go with Riveria. All the reasons you have are the same I have.

Whoa, $3k buys a lot of magical extras and Batuu souvenirs. For us, it's "only" saving $100/night over two nights, so more about amenities and the experiences. I'm hoping for more discounts, too.

Riviera now has a skyliner station making it easy to get to both HS and Epcot, if it gives you the space you need and saves some cash then I'd go with that.

I'm guessing they're all going to drop tomorrow.

I could be totally wrong here, but I don't think there will be any big discounts tomorrow. It's possible we'll see a Riviera-only discount like what was released today for Disney VISA cardholders, but I don't think there will be any sweeping offers. The expiration date for the most recent fall discount was just extended until December AND this week is cruise booking week for early 2021 itineraries. Those are both factors that generally don't coincide with big WDW discounts. Again, though, this is totally just an educated guess on my part!

Yes, that is only if no discount for YC comes out. If one does come out, it will be more of a struggle to switch to Riveria.

I personally don't think Disney extending an expiration date has any bearing on future discount releases, and DCL lines are not the same as WDW customer service lines so that will have little to no impact on anything to do with WDW. They may not drop tomorrow, but I have a feeling it will be in the next couple of weeks if it's not tomorrow. I have had a strange feeling it's tomorrow, but you never know.

I am starting to agree with this. Usually aren't Disney visa discounts similar to what is released to general public? I wouldn't be surprised if nothing is released tomorrow. I hope I'm wrong!

Non chase rumor, 20 percent off hotel only moderate and deluxe, 15 off hotel only value, no ticket deal no food deal. 7AM tomorrow.

It would be noteworthy if there were no discounts released soon for 2020. It would be an indicator that Disney is happy with it's resort reservations. For all the speculation about SWGE laying and egg and other signs of slipping attendance, that would run counter to such conventional wisdom.

Will be interesting to keep watching, as I assume they would need to announce offers soon for them to have the desired impact on reservations for January

Not very exciting. I wish they'd go ahead and release that so I can go ahead and book a vacation house thru VRBO for January.
