January 2016 Discount Code Watch

How do you go about getting the orbitz AND the disney visa discount? Book separately with Orbitz and then call Orbitz to have the Visa discount applied?

You can't combine an Orbitz discount with a reservation made directly through Disney. To get both the Disney and Orbitz discounts, you have to wait until the Disney discounts appear on Orbitz's website, and then apply an Orbitz code.

Ahhhh. Ok. Thank you.

I called last night and got the room only discount - for POR Garden view (no standards available) I tried to call this morning to price out the SDP and the systems are down.... not sure I will have time to call back until tonight. ugh. Pretty sure I will be sticking with the room only as I have priced out SDP at regular price and my family doesn't want/need that many sit down meals.

I can't do the full research until the website releases discounts Monday (see last year's results here http://www.disboards.com/threads/stay-play-dine-calculation.3339097/) HOWEVER...my rough calculation based on pricing out 4 different combinations at moderate resorts this evening has come to this:

40% OFF Dining
FULL PRICE Tickets
$13 OFF per Night

Again - I'm only seeing this for moderate resorts and the sample size is VERY small. Last year when doing the calculation I priced out 50 or more combinations of resorts, adult/kid mixes, ticket lengths, dates, etc.

we are a family of 5 (4 adults and 1 child) staying 6 nights in january at CBR standard room. We have had a room reservation for a couple of months and we added the stay play and dine package. the cost of this addition for 6 days was $841.50. does this sound right?

My TA called me yesterday to see if I had the Disney Visa (I don't). She'd priced it out already, so here it is and maybe you can figure it out (she said it should be the same Monday IF THERE IS AVAILABILITY - which scares me that there may not be):

6 nights, 1/24-1/30 at All Star Sports, 2 adults, 6 day (no hopper) tickets, upgraded dining plan (DDP). Regular price is $2074.42. Savings will be $217.36. My guess is small savings on room, no savings on tickets, larger savings on QSDP, full price for upgrade. But I can't figure out percentages to get to that amount.

Saved 15% off of our room only reservation at the Beach Club, Jan 30-Feb 7. The cast member wasn't great so I'm going to play around later and see if we can't get a better deal at a different resort, but at least it's something.

I'm new to this chat , but have also been creeping it for months waiting for a promo to drop (Canadian dollar is so low right now I NEED discount)
Can someone clarify if the SDP promo is only applied for a deluxe dining plan ? It's probaly mentioned here but I could be missing it ..
Thanks!

around page 17 of this thread, i think value resorts include the quick service plan, but you can pay the difference if you want to upgrade.

Ok, so with the SPD deal. If I stay Value, can I upgrade to the regular dining plan (not quick)? This may have been covered already, so sorry….
Yes, you will be able to upgrade to the DDP by paying the additional costs.

Perfect! Thanks for the details.
I'm beyond excited to book on Monday !!

I'm getting excited with everyone, but since I don't have a Disney Visa I'm waiting for Monday.

Are the discounts for Visa Dining plan discounts, or can you get a room only discount? We'd prefer not to go on a dining plan, but will happily do so if that is the only discount available.

We had booked room and tickets at CBR in January for $2150. So I called this morning about the discount and got the SPD discount. for January 18-24, 2 adults, 1 child standard room at CBR with 5 day tix and dining plan total was $2,583.80. So we got the dining plan for about half price. I'm okay with that. :)

So I know I cannot get these discounts because we are staying at an excluded villa...and we are set on staying at a villa this time. Our airfare is completely free for five people (YAY credit card points!) so that was the reason we went BIG with deciding to treat ourselves to a villa.
So my question and sorry if this should go in a different thread is...can I save anything by booking tickets at a special discounted price?

I was waiting to make a "package" until after the discounts were announced but now I think I will just buy the tix separate. Oh and we do not need dining...we share food A LOT and want to do some meals in the villa kitchen.

Hi all,

I'm new to the Boards so go easy on me. Am I missing something regarding this Disney Visa discount? It seems like a really good deal. Our familyof four (8 and 6 year old) normally goes during the free dining periods in December but we can't go this year so we pushed our trip back to January. Anyways, long story short I priced the following for my family of four:

January 13-23 Wilderness Lodge + 8 day pass + Disney Dining + Memory Maker = $7,665

When I called Disney for the Stay Play Dine Package, the same package was $6,564.

That seems like a pretty significant discount so I was just hoping if anyone else had gotten any quotes on similiar deals? Just concerned because it seems like most people don't seem to be saving as much as what I was quoted. Any help is much appreciated and thanks in advance!

Thanks for this info! We're staying at CBR the 23-30, also with one paying child and this price is just about what I had figured. Hurry up and get here Monday!

I don't see the AKL pool view rooms listed, all I see are the savanna view rooms at 15%. Are these rooms not available for a discount?
