January 2015

My wife and I are planning on taking our niece in January as a graduation gift. Sure, it's 6 months after graduation, but she understands lower crowds and easier on her Uncle's pocketbook. We are probably going to stay offsite, as we found a 2 bedroom condo to rent so she has a bit of privacy. Plus we can cook a lot of meals. However, I'd love to be involved in the Facebook page, if someone could PM me with a link!

We're going for Marathon Weekend, I'm doing Dopey again so most likely Jan 6 - Jan 12. We got a good room only discount this year and stayed Tues-Mon at All Star Sports for around $550!

That's awesome!!!

Did they have FD the last week of January this year and if yes, when could you start booking it?

Joining in on the fun and also checking out the FB page. I'm hoping to go in January 2015. The group would be me, DH, DD (college), and DD with her DH and my two DGS. Hoping it will be a bonus and my parents will also join us. This same group went in January 2013. Right now DH is reluctant. Can you believe he asks me things like, "Aren't you Disneyed out?" He and I just came back from our first trip alone, but he seems to forget he already promised me this 2015 trip. Anyway, sorry that was so long. Will be checking back for discounts as it gets closer.

Hi everyone! We are looking to go Jan 1-5th. (maybe the 6th if I can talk my DD into missing a day of school….can you believe SHE doesn't want to miss?!?) Been a few years since we've done the WDW thing and I can't believe how much it has changed! I have a lot of catching up to do. Good thing I have 8 1/2 months. Hoping for FD. It will be DD, DH, DMIL, and myself. Can't wait. When do the codes usually come out? And can someone tell me do those include the special pirate rooms at CBR? That's where she wants to stay. And would I be best just to book it and *GASP* pay full price or only receive a AAA discount? Thanks in advance for advice!

We were at WDW this past January and the weather was too cold for swimming, but otherwise was fine.

Disney has offered both the Stay, Play and Dine plan and room discounts for January in 2013 and 2014. The last time they had free dining was in 2012 and they seem to be dropping free dining dates, not adding it, to the calendar.

Some people receive pin codes for free dining, but that doesn't really count, since only a small group of people receive them.

I don't mean to sound ignorant, but what was the "Stay, Play, and Dine Plan"?
P.S. Thanks for the info!

The Stay. Plan and Dine Plan was basically adults pay children's prices for the dining plan and tickets. It isn't as good a discount as free dining, but for family with a lot of Disney adults, it is a pretty good deal.

We're going for Marathon weekend too (but we're only doing the marathon). Our dates will probably be Jan 8-12.

Where and when did you start looking for deals last year? We're DVC members so we usually book with points, but we don't have enough points for the January trip.

I think there were both public and AP room only offers valid that week and I'm not sure which I used honestly. I know I originally booked the public offer and from my emails looks like I did on Oct 8, but a better AP offer came out but it wasn't available Fri or Sat so I called and I think I ended up staying with the public offer. The year before we did the marathon only and I booked through Priceline in November and we stayed at POP 3 nights for $281 total.

Was the Stay Play promo offered for POP last January and it a better deal if it was than AP discount?

Thanks. I will be getting an AP, so I'll keep my eyes open for a deal.

HI!

Almost 98% sure that we'll be at Disney again in January 2015. Our last trip was in July 2012.
I cannot "price my vacation" yet on Disney's webside. Do you know when will I be able to check the rates for January? :rolleyes1

Thanks in advance

I called and a CM said July :/ but CMs in the call centers aren't known for being accurate so I'm not sure if that's correct.

That's pretty accurate. I think it's closer to June but definitely sometime in the summer is when they'll release package rates.
