We're going for Marathon Weekend, I'm doing Dopey again so most likely Jan 6 - Jan 12. We got a good room only discount this year and stayed Tues-Mon at All Star Sports for around $550!
Did they have FD the last week of January this year and if yes, when could you start booking it?
We were at WDW this past January and the weather was too cold for swimming, but otherwise was fine.
Disney has offered both the Stay, Play and Dine plan and room discounts for January in 2013 and 2014. The last time they had free dining was in 2012 and they seem to be dropping free dining dates, not adding it, to the calendar.
Some people receive pin codes for free dining, but that doesn't really count, since only a small group of people receive them.
I don't mean to sound ignorant, but what was the "Stay, Play, and Dine Plan"?
P.S. Thanks for the info!

We're going for Marathon weekend too (but we're only doing the marathon). Our dates will probably be Jan 8-12.
Where and when did you start looking for deals last year? We're DVC members so we usually book with points, but we don't have enough points for the January trip.
I think there were both public and AP room only offers valid that week and I'm not sure which I used honestly. I know I originally booked the public offer and from my emails looks like I did on Oct 8, but a better AP offer came out but it wasn't available Fri or Sat so I called and I think I ended up staying with the public offer. The year before we did the marathon only and I booked through Priceline in November and we stayed at POP 3 nights for $281 total.
HI! Almost 98% sure that we'll be at Disney again in January 2015. Our last trip was in July 2012. I cannot "price my vacation" yet on Disney's webside. Do you know when will I be able to check the rates for January? Thanks in advance
I called and a CM said July :/ but CMs in the call centers aren't known for being accurate so I'm not sure if that's correct.
