January 2015

Thank you!

So .... June or July? Only 6 months before? :worried:

Hi All, also hoping to be there in Jan. Hoping for Dec 27th to Jan 10th. Will probably have to do a split stay to avail of any discounts, but wouldn't mind that!!

Hi everyone, hoping for a Jan 25-Jan 31 2015 trip to celebrate my sons 9th birthday! A discount of some kind would be awesome to have. I was wanting to do something special for my son on his birthday, does anyone have any suggestions?

The Stay. Plan and Dine Plan was basically adults pay children's prices for the dining plan and tickets. It isn't as good a discount as free dining, but for family with a lot of Disney adults, it is a pretty good deal.

Do you know if you had to use the park pass that trip or can you save them and use ones you already have? also, would they bridge to an adult ticket later and would you get the value at adult price if you upgraded?

When you buy a package you have to use your tickets within 14 days.

I know you don't have to use tickets you get with all packages within 14 days as I just upgraded tickets from a past trips package in Jan. I believe they have to be used within 14 days of first use. My question is, do the same rules apply as far as the value of tickets when upgrading tickets purchased at child's price for adult tickets or will the not honor a bridge when adults are purchased at child's price.

Looking at the calendar for Jan 2015, I am expecting the week of Dec 28-Jan 3 to be really packed, more than usual. Back to school is usually midweek Jan 2nd and people will leave midweek to get back. But since Jan 2 is happening on a Friday next year, a lot of people will take advantage of that full week at Disney without missing any school, and stay through the weekend, and then leave.

The days after Jan 1 are usually much less crowded. I would expect the following week, Jan 4-10, to be lighter than normal crowds because everyone who took advantage of the full vacation week prior will leave by Sunday Jan 4th to get back to school.

So those are my predictions!

We have a non-Disney cruise booked for that Jan week but you never know.

We will be going Jan20-28, 2015. Probably POR.
January is the best month to go. Low crowds, great weather 60s/70s, slight breeze.
Someone asked about tour groups, and we saw them but they never caused any problems, was never in line with them.
You do sacrifice some rides being in Refurb, Like Splash. And the parks aren't open until midnight. But it's worth it, Once you go in January you'll be a fan!
:thumbsup2

We will be attending in January 2015 too! I am bringing 3 Grandkids for their first trip to Disney. I have not been to Disney in years. Please forgive me for asking this stupid question, but what are the "discount codes" you are talking about? Where do I find these? We are using a travel agent but she has not mentioned anything like this. Thanks for any information!!

Disney will offer discounts from time to time. There isn't anything out yet for January. If you keep following this thread, you will definitely know about them when they are released :).

I think around 10/1 is a good date previous years to start seeing then Jan WDW Specials come out.

Also Mousesavers DOT COM will keep you up to date on any specials :)

Me too! We are planning on the last week of Jan or first week in Feb. I am hoping for at least the SPD discount, as I will have 3 disney adults and two kids. Its better than nothing! My kids will not be finding out about this trip until Christmas morning!!

We are also cheating on Disney this trip (gasp) and doing US. Then hopefully a few beach days. A lot more planning than just staying in the 'world' the whole trip, but it will be fun!!

We are doing US/IOA one day too, to get to experience all the Harry Potter stuff, we have never done that...so I'm excited.!

Joining you Jan 2015 folks. I am planning a Jan1-9, 2015. Will be me, Mom(age 79 on Monday) and my Goddaughter who will be 20 at the time. We are going to celebrate everyone's 0's BD -Morgan 20 in Oct 14 me 50 while on the trip and Mom's 80th in April. Going to beat the heat and the crowd. We are planning on traveling the 1st and staying outside of the Parks north of Orlando, going to Universal the 2 and 3 and will probably stay onsite at Universal one night and then move on Jan 3 to WDW. Working on coming up with the resorts we would like to try and waiting for pin codes to come out or other specials.

We are planning on the last week of January again. No free dining this time of year since 2012, but we got a pin code last year for FD so here's hoping we get another! If not, hoping for S/P/D. Still undecided on resort, can't make up my mind! Where is everyone here staying?

POR. it's the only place we've ever stayed but i've been told i'm not to go and muck around with perfection by trying to explore other resorts. ;)

i have to say, our dates of 3rd to the 11th are giving me fits tho. between school vacation dates, the marathon, the way the days fall on the calendar... it's proving to be a challenge schedule wise and budget wise. how is everyone else working around such obstacles?

We haven't set firm dates yet, but it's looking like January for us again, toward the end. Whenever we do end up going, we'll be at WL.

Hoping for free dining, or a 35% RO would be nice. If not, it would be a great to receive a pin (would be my first, even with all the times I've called/gone online to price out vacations, etc).

I know chances are nil, but I'd love to see 2010's offer come back- buy4 nights, get 3 free!! That deal turned us into wdw vacationers for sure!! It sucked us in, just where they like us!! ;)

Are your kids back in school during that week?

Why is it a problem budget wise? I would think that week is going to be discounted.
