I currently have a 7 night stay at Pop, with a 6 day park hopper and Standard Dining Plan.
If I ask my agent to apply the Stay Play and Dine, could I upgrade to Deluxe Dining at the children's rate if I add an extra day of tickets? I'm really not sure how this works.
No, you would not get the deluxe dining plan at the child's rate, you would pay the difference in cost between the adult regular dining plan rate and the deluxe rate (which is roughly $50 per person per night). I calculated that to upgrade from standard to deluxe plan would be about $500 for 3 adults for 4 nights....a very steep cost in my opinion....
So if the Regular dining plan is $19 for kids, and the upgrade to deluxe is $54. It's only a difference of $18 a night over what I am currently paying for the standard dining plan, and includes 3 tables service credits and 2 snacks... That's actually a lot of souvenir cookies and treats to bring home for my niece and nephew. Might be worth doing.

It depends on exactly which time of year you go, but the CM told me last night that to upgrade from QS to DDP is about $20 extra, and to upgrade to DxDP is another $50 or so on top of that, so you're looking at about $69 for upgrading from your free DDP to DxDP. That is only $10 or $11 difference, if you're currently booked in a package with *paid* DDP and no discounts!
Makes sense up upgrade if you have 3 table service meals a day and/or plan to do some of the expensive 2-credit meals on your visit. I just don't find that we have time for 3 table meals a day; lunch is always a quick service or snacks. But, yeah, it seems like a steal! LOL
Cool. I've sent an e-mail off to my travel agent with a request to get me a quote for an upgrade to deluxe using the Stay, Play, Dine promo. It would be nice to be able to try out a few extra table service restaurants, and actually be able to get a meal the night of my check-in.
It will definitely be a big price increase. When staying at Pop, only the quick service dining plan is included in the SPD promo. To upgrade from QS to Deluxe, you'll have to pay the child price of QS + the difference of the adult QS price and the adult Deluxe price, which will be considerable.

No harm in checking it out I guess.
Does anyone know if CR is already sold out for the promotion (either SPD or RO) for the end of Jan? I don't have a Visa so can't get a call in until tomorrow morning. I already have a ressie for CR - BLV from Jan. 22 - Jan. 25. I really don't want to have to switch resorts since all our dinning plans have been made based on a stay there. I crunched the number and either discount works ($5 difference between the 2). We're 2 adults and 2 kids doing 4 day passes (no extras) with the DxDP. Getting anxious.
True. Also, some people have found it makes more sense for them to upgrade to a moderate resort because then the standard dining plan is included in the SPD promo, so then you only have to pay the difference between standard and deluxe when upgrading the dining. I think it comes out to almost the same price or just a tiny bit more.
They do not allocate all the promotional rooms for Disney Visa. They might be sold out for cardholders but there may be new rooms available tomorrow.
I have res for jan 12-19 at Pop for 2 adults with regular dinning right now.
If my math is close to being right, and the estimate of $60.00 per person to upgrade from quick service to regular is right. that is $120 per day for me.
The difference in rooms at POP and say CBR is $74.00 per day
I should save $46 per day for a total of $323 by upgrading to CBR.
I hope this math is correct and the S/P/D deal is up in the morning.![]()
