January 2014 discount watch!!

Thanks, everyone, for the help in subscribing to this thread...I found it! ;) Not getting emails / updates, so I'm not sure what I did wrong, but oh well.

Sooooo, this discount on Deluxe villas...is it select deluxe resorts, too, I hope?? Or, just villas? Surely they wouldn't do it for just deluxe villas, right? That'd be pretty unconventional of them. :confused3

Can't tell you where it comes from ;) I don't want my family member to lose their job. As reliable of a source as it gets!

Woot woot!! Thanks for sharing! So excited about the 35% off at deluxes! Can you confirm if all of the available discounted deluxe rooms are at 35% or might some be lower (i.e. 25 or 30%)?

I assume that MLK weekend is not blacked out for RO since it wasn't last year.

Any info re: the release date?

Thanks again! :)

Question about the Play/Stay/Dine Promotion:

I'm trying to calculate things out ahead of time to compare the savings between Room Only and the P/S/D discounts for our package.

Am I correct in that the P/S/D discount promotion works by giving all adults in the package discounts for their park tickets and dining plan prices at child pricing levels while the room rates remain at rack rate?

Subbing to this thread because we are hoping for a good deal to book our now annual Jan trip! We have ALWAYS gotten discounts in Jan so I hope this one isn't any different. I would be surprised if they didn't do anything during this normally quiet time.

I just couldn't wait any longer!!! I went for it and BOOKED!!!!! I was losing excitement during the waiting game :surfweb:.....NOW I AM REALL REALLY EXCITED!!!!:mickeyjum Just have to keep a straight face in front of the kids in order to surprise them in January!!!

Thank You Vacation Junkie for the tip!!! :worship:

I'm not booking until they release a discount, lol.

I need a Code for Jan 23-26!!! Fl Resident or AP code would be nice!

There is no Free dining for Jan-March 2014. Its P/S/D.
the dates for the above (& RO discounts..with the exception of the blackout days) Will be

January 5, 2014 – March 2, 2014
March 16, 2014 – April 12, 2014

The R.O will be the following
35% off at select Deluxe Villas, 30% off at Moderate, and 25% off at Value.

Ohh same promotion as for jan - march 2013... Thank you for telling me...

Does anyone know if the Contemporary will be included in the RO discount coming up for Jan - Mar 2014? I noticed that the Contemporary was not included in the RO discount for Fall 2103. Thanks!

OMG I'm completely confused now!! We are arriving on Jan 2 and staying until the 9th so I'm trying to figure out what deal would be the best for us. It's 3 adults and 1 child.

If I do the room discount would I have to make 2 reservations one until the 5th and the other for the rest of the time in order to get the discount or can I do it all one reservation and they just take the discount on those nights?

Also if I decide to do P/S/D deal how would we go about doing it? Would we have to do two reservations and divide our tickets up too? If so then I don't know if the savings would be that great b/c you get more savings the more day tickets you get. UGH is it this confusing or am I confusing myself????!!

Hopefully they will be out in Nov. Gotta keep an eye out!

You know, I've been wondering something.

The current trend seems to be offering Stay, Play, Dine during their slowest part of the year, while the rest of the year gets Free Dining. Yet, Free Dining seems like a much better deal that would bring in more people.

So why do they offer their better package deal during more crowded times of the year and offer the deal that saves people less money during the slowest time of the year?

Free Dining is almost NEVER a better option than room only or SPD.

That's not really accurate. FD is a better deal over SPD, hands down, for anyone that would be using SPD over a room discount. With SPD you have to pay for a portion of the DP... With FD you don't pay anything at all for it. Your room is rack rate either way. FD will always save more.

Whether FD is better than a room discount really depends on the party makeup.

Fall is during the height of hurricane season which also keeps people away without a deal. Crowd wise they are about the same. It's also hotter, so early parts of the year look more desirable and therefore get less of a discount.

I have a question. Not sure if anyone can answer. This is our first time taking my son (for his 3rd birthday) and our first time every staying on site. We are planning on staying in a value and I am trying to crunch the numbers to get the best deal. We are Florida residents so, we get cheaper tickets (cheaper than the child prices for S/P/D) and I am wondering if I can get one ticket for the package and then purchase the rest with the Florida resident discount? My son will turn 3 while we are at Disney so, he will be free food and ticket-wise. Just trying to figure all this out before the discounts are released.

Nevermind, I ran the numbers and that wouldn't help us anyway!
