January 2011!!!!!!!!!

The Wifey and I are staying at POR from 1/10-1/15 to celebrate both of our birthdays and to take advantage of free dining! :woohoo:

Jeniamt - when we were there in January, it was after that freak frost. However, there were definitely times that it was warm enough to swim. We were in Tokelau so my DD really liked the quiet pool. Do you have a longhouse preference?

Re: Poly restaurants, we did them all. Captain Cooks was great CS and they have my favorite breakfast ever...Tonga Toast. You MUST try it if you haven't before. Kona Cafe was okay, but I loved Ohana for breakfast and dinner. Since you are late eaters, you could eat at Ohana and watch the Electric Parade from there.

Other TS restaurants we tried were: Coral Reef, Chef Mickeys, Rainforest Cafe (at both AK and DTD, since my kids loved it), and Teppan Edo. I liked them all.

Just thinking of how very ready I am for a vacation!!! January can't come soon enough!!!:)

(plus I wanted to see my ticker ;) )

January 19-26 at Boardwalk Villas. Second time with my DS and BF and bringing along a "riding buddy" my best gal pal Tracy! Got to show my DS WDW in 2009 and now I get to show it all to my gal too! Its her first time ever! :yay:

Its her first time ever! :yay:

Oh how exciting for her!!!! That first trip is always the most special. Well usually lol (my first sadly was not fun at all, but went back years later with dh and it was amazing). This is my son's first trip and I think I am more excited for him to experience everything.

Starting January 29 hubby and I will be taking turns taking one child at a time down to Disney for special one-on-one weekends. Each trip will be short (leave early early Saturday morning, stay the nite in Orlando and come home on Sunday) but luckily with us living only 4.5 hours away each one should be fun and provide all of us with memories we will never forget. The kids don't know yet, because I have not ironed out all of the details yet, but I am so excited to have the opportunity to do this with each of them! :cool1:

I'm new to this thread, but let me say: Seeing WDW for the first time through your child's eyes is AWESOME!! My kids have been several times now to Disney and I still love watching their expressions when they see or experience something, but there is just something about that first time that you never forget.

what an awesome idea!! we couldn't do that with disney...but we have season passes to cedar point and it's only 2 hours away....my kids are 9 and 8 now so one on one time might be really cool. I'll have to think on this one a bit as we love to be all together as a family.

We really love our family time also and I love planning whatever family excursions we are going to take. But I am realizing as the kids get older that time is flying so fast! :sad2: For us, having time to just be with one child at a time lets us really pay close attention to them and let them know they are special as an individual not just as a member of the family. Part of what spurred this on was the fact that my 14 year daughter now thinks that Daddy "doesn't get it" (well no, he was never a teenage girl so he really doesn't get it :lmao:) but doing this will really help them to reconnect and reinforce to her that Daddy really does care about her. :thumbsup2

My hubby would love to go to Cedar Point! He absolutely loves roller coasters and the poor fella got stuck with a girl who doesn't! ;) But in my defense I would like to say on this last trip I did most all of the ones at Disney! :)

We will be at the AllStar Movies Jan. 22-29. We are about to die, we are soooooo ready to go. DD (4) and DS (1) have never been. Every Disney comercial is the same. "Daddy, are we going to see_______ there?"

We will at All Star Movies at the same time! We will arrive on the 23rd though. My 4 year old can't wait! Now that Christmas is over, Disney is all that is on our brains! lol

:cool1: Just did online checkin for our flight -- we are not at under 24 hours to the trip beginning. Jan 1st -- Jan 8th at AKV. We're looking at this as our possible last big family trip for sometime -- two oldest are in college (Junior and Freshmen) and the "little" girls are in 7th and 8th grade. Have to enjoy those moments while you still can. We've had lots of great WDW trips together and have created tons of memories. Keeping our fingers crossed that the weather reports (near 70's all week) hold true.
