January 2011!!!!!!!!!

Ahhh we are leaving Wednesday night!!! NOTHING is packed, NOTHING is done around this house. Even now, I should be doing something, but I"m just here on the internet!!

We leave Friday night and I decided to pack my kids shorts & t-shirts this weekend. The more I look at the weather forecast the more I think I should just take all but one pair of shorts out for everyone. I pack them every January and we never use all of them!! I wish I could have packed more, but with the temps in January we will end up needing enough of the clothes that we will be wearing this week that it seems silly to even start packing. Add to that my 6, 4 and 2yo who would probalby empty the suitcase out and play with everything in it if I tried to leave it open and partially packed:)

Good luck and enjoy your trip!

Hey guys!

I'm so late to the party! <3 :lmao:

This holiday season (2010) and into the new year has just been insane. I said we would get past my dh's January birthday and then I'd start really getting down to business with packing for disney. :cool1:

I finalized my ADRs on Friday night with a CM by phone. I was having a HECK of a time pulling up the phone made ADRs and was starting to panic! Turns out my ressies were under my phone number from when we took a trip in college. It feels like a lifetime ago even though it's only been about 10 years since that trip. Anyway...that's all squared away. :thumbsup2

We spent the morning packing and buying toiletries for the trip and I've packed up any meds we'll need while gone.

NOW...what do we bring to wear? It looks like it's going to be pretty mild but there's definately some chances for rain. I said was going to do all of the wash on Wednesday and spend Friday packing. Now I'm getting nervous about that...so I'm washing tonight after dd and ds are in bed and I'll pack on Wednesday. :scared1:

My goal is to have everything done on Thursday so we can CHILL and hang out on Friday and I can clean up this pig stye. :rolleyes1

What am I missing? I feel like I knew so much about WDW the last trip but I haven't done nearly the prep this time. It's gonna be alright...right?! :yay:

Definately pack the rain gear! We are packing sweatshirt/hoodies for everyone so we can dress in layers. It seems that even on the warmest days it is still pretty cool in the morning and at night. Since we are coming from the northeast we will have our winter coats, but I hope it doesn't get that cold:scared1:

Sweat shirts are smart. we are from the SE (specifically upstate SC) so we are going to ditch our coats in the car. I guess we'll be in a real pickle if we need them...but it's supposed to be warm.

Is it sad that I really have to think about what you wear in 70 degree weather?

I think I'll take the kids to the disney store today and we'll all get some new duds. ;)

You are so lucky to have a Disney store so close. I either have to go to Myrtle Beach or Raleigh. Either way, it is over a 2 hour ride. I packed sweatshirts for the kids and a light jacket for myself. It is lime green, maybe I will wear that to the dismeet....lol. Last Feb. when we went we had our coats/jackets on in almost all of our pictures. I hope that doesn't happen this time. Somehow a picture with Mickey just doesn't look right if you're wearing a heavy coat. Good luck with the packing. :)

Oh cool, which one did you get?? I wanted the, ohh I think its called the letter carrier, its a cross body one in blue, I LOVE it.[/QUOTE]

I got the Tonal Mickey bag. I thought about getting the letter carrier one but, I like big purses. I knew the only time I'd use the letter carrier would be at Disney and I really wanted to be able to use a new purse every day. To be honest I wish I'd gotten them both when they were having their big sale. I got their make-up bag and made my things fit in it! Oddly enough, I use a fannypack......yes, dork to the max.....when at Disney. I don't always wear it, I usually hang it over my shoulder just like a purse. My hips are big enough as it is, I don't need anything accentuating that area! :rotfl2:

I wore a fanny during my first trip to Disney  Went with my high school band and my mom made me take it LOL! I use BIG purses too and on our last trip, my purse about killed my shoulder! So thats why I went with the letter carrier, and its actually a bit roomier on the inside than I thought.

I always find it to be much easier to wear a backpack to the parks. It distributes the weight evenly and I have less stress on my back. Ofcourse, it's not super attractive! ;)

I went to the Disney Store and ended up with two shirts for each of my kiddos and now I need to figure out what they are going to put under each of them. ;)

Lisa, I agree about wearing a coat. It simply looks unnatural! ;)

I am so excited, we leave in a few days and I am practically all packed (just need to put in those last min items that cant be packed till night before/morning of). Got cash from the bank, quarters for the laundry, hot hands for our pockets....we are ready!!

I have to finish getting my makeup bag together, I am so tempted to pack that too and just not wear makeup for a few days..... lol

Can you tell that I love to pack......have most items checked off the list so nothing is left behind.

See, the backpacks usually bother my back. But DH wears it anyways now it seems. I just wanted a small purse to have on me with my wallet, phone and lipstick (you know, the essentials LOL) just in case we get seperated. Last time it was just to two of us, so we were never out of each others sight, but this time with having our son with us I'm afraid we might lose each other here and there.

We leave Friday and now my daughter has a project due on Friday so we had to run to the store after basketball pictures and girl scouts to get the supplies. We have 4 hours worth of dance classes and a basketball game before we go so I really didn't have time to fit a project in. So now on top of everything else I am building a mountain lol.

I'm in a bit of a panic, and I know you guys would understand.;) I'm obsessing watching the weather forecast, and they are calling for major snow in a week, which is exactly when we leave! I'm worried that our flight will be cancelled and our vacation will be shortened...

I'm right there with ya. We leave on Wed. at 640AM and one channel said monday into tuesday and the other one said tuesday into wed. I hope they are wrong. I feel like we get delayed everytime we go away in January!!! We are flying out of Philly.

We are flying out of Philly too! Our flight is at 7 am on Wed...are you on the Airtran flight? I hope it takes off on time.

I am leaving tomorrow morning from Hartford and it is definitely going to snow about 3-6 inches :sad2: I'm hoping the flight isn't too delayed, or worse cancelled :scared1: Anyhow, I think this is my last January trip for a while, this freakishly bad winter is taking a toll and my stress is about a 10! Sorry for the vent!

No, we are on Southwest 640AM Wed...so funny. I'm sure we'll be there at the same time. I'll have 3 little girls in matching mickey mouse sweatshirt jackets!! LOL!!!

The weather looks like it will be OK now, mainly wintry mix on tuesday...but it all depends on which channel you are watching...

Anyone flying out of the east coast on Wednesday, besides me and JandKmom!!!

Here is my plan B scenario that I think will work. So, if we end up being delayed significantly on Wed morning. I'm going to ask SW, right at the airport while I'm waiting....to change my flight home to the following thursdsay. Then I'm going to make a room only reservation at POP, even if I have to change rooms, I don't care. That way, I can have a full day to use my last park tix and you can use the meal plan up until midnight of your check out day, so we won't lose out on any meals, since we will still have all day Wednesday to use them. I checked the flights are cheaper than what I paid on that thursday so that's no problem. SW doesn't charge change fees.

We tried every other scenario but the flights out on tuesday are double what I paid, so that won't work, and if I try to change from Thurs to Thurs, I would lose my free dining....so this plan makes me happy and at least I know I have a plan b that will only cost me $92 but save me the loss of one day park tix and meals.

Happy travels!!:wizard:

That sounds like a good plan, Danielle. Hopefully the storm will be like today's snow, which wasn't a huge deal. I looked on the PHL site and almost all flights were on time today. Fingers crossed!

We have some more flexibility at the end of our trip if we need to change plans. We are supposed to leave on Sunday, get a rental car and drive to my inlaws in West Palm Beach. We have a flight out from there on Wednesday. So, if we need to, we can stay all day on Sunday, use our last park ticket (if we don't have time to do a park when we arrive). We will have less time at the inlaws but oh well!:lmao:

We have to leave the house at 2:30am tonight/tomorrow morning for our 6:30am flight. We drive for an hour to the airport and right now it's snowing alot!! Prayers up......please let the roads be clear!!!

LOL!!! too funny!!! I'm debating about just changing it now, or waiting. I think I could wait, the more I think about it because there are several flights out that thursday.
