Just wanted to see my ticker so I could remind myself that a great time is just ahead. I've been stressed and sad the last week so thinking about getting away and having some fun is just what I need.

I've had issues with gallbladder attacks for 6 weeks now. Finally was admitted through the ER and had surgery the next day. Followup appointment was yesterday and I was finally relieved to find out the biopsy was NEGATIVE! I'm so relieved and starting to feel so much better!

But, during this time I'm sad because my husband is in Afghanistan. It's just 'cause it's Christmas, then my birthday, and then his birthday all within 5 days of each other. We'll get through and I'll finally get to see him in February for our 19th anniversary. It's just had to be without him all the time.

And this December 26th (my 41st birthday) will be the 10th anniversary of my beloved grandmother's death. She and I will share that date on our gravemarkers and honestly, I'm honored. I know she made it through Christmas that year so that we wouldn't associated her death with the day we celebrate the birth of Jesus. I know she willed herself to last until after Christmas. I also know that she knew without a doubt that if anyone would understand that she couldn't hold on any longer, it would be me. This being the 10 year anniversary is so hard. 10 whole years? Where did the time go? I can't begin to count the number of times that I've suddenly had the urge to call her and ask her some silly question, only to remember she's in heaven. I cry for me and my family because we live without her but I rejoice for her as she sits at the feet of our Lord. I can't wait to someday sit beside her!

Sorry. I'm really just here to see my ticker! My daughter and I are getting the final touches together for our WDW trip starting January 5 and coming home on January 11!!!! I am truly blessed.

We leave on Jan. 22 (just 1 more month) for a week at Wilderness Lodge. We are taking me grandson for his first visit. Can't wait. I think I am more excited about our vacation than I am about Christmas.

I know I'm more excited about Disney than Christmas. I made another shopping trip today -- not for Christmas presents but for stuff for Disney goodie bags. (Michaels had a huge selection of Dis themed stocking stuffers.)
And when I sort the mail, I toss aside packages and cards -- I'm looking for ME tags.

My presents still aren't wrapped. But the goodie bags look great!

Disney is definately overshadowing Christmas this year! I just wasn't going to say it out loud.
It doesn't help that I am only taking 2 days off (besides the weekend) during these 2 weeks. I normally take 4-6. But i need the time for Disney. Talked to my DD9 about it. The week before and after Christmas is big for us. I didn't have enough vacation time for both. Her response - "Are you crazy?! I'll be just fine. Work Christmas. We're goin' to Disney!!!"

I am also having the same problem when I go Christmas shopping. I need this for Disney. Oh, I need that for Disney. Over half of DD's present aref or Disney. Gift card, pins, a new Mickey outfit for the plane ride down.

I think it will be warm the end of Jan. because they had all their really cold weather in Dec. (I'm crossing my fingers). But I am packing for everything. We're taking jeans, capris and shorts. And I bought fleece Mickey jackets in case it is still cold.

I haven't even started packing anything yet!! That is so not like me. I guess because it's just DH and me going I don't have to worry about packing food and stuff for everyone. After I get through Christmas I will pack and hopefully the weather is nicer than last year. It was freezing!

Glad I'm not alone: definitely more excited about Disney than Christmas.

I need to get packing...leaving 1/7 and not done with vacation until 1/23. WHEW!

It's 2 days until Christmas, but 31 days until Disney. We are excited about the religious part of Christmas, but the secular part is definitely taking a back seat to Disney this year.

Maybe it's because instead of just one day of presents, we'll have 8 Crazy Nights!

We can't wait for January 23rd and the Boardwalk Villas.

We check in on Jan 22nd and it is my hubby & I's anniversary trip. We did not buy any Christmas gifts for each other because we are going to spoil each other in Disney. We are so excited. We (because I did it) are completely packed, we could leave tomorrow although the kids would not be happy if we did since it is Christmas Eve!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who seems more excited for WDW than Christmas! I think the main reason I'm excited for Christmas this year is the Christmas surprise we're giving the kids that morning--a WDW trip!

I'm definitely more excited for Disney also. Disney Dollars for gifts on Christmas along with my messenger bag I wanted so I can use that throughout the park.
