January 2010 at DL resort! Official thread....who's all going?

I thought I would bump this thread back up so us Januarians don't get lost in the shuffle.

I hope we are all in for wonderful January DL fun!!!!:goodvibes

Jan 16-18th for our 7th Anniversary.

It was supposed to be a surprise for my wife when I booked the airfare during the Southwest Sale, but I messed up and she found out!!!

Lets just say I am doing what I can to make sure there are several other surprises up my sleeve. (Including taking advantage of the APH rate)

She asked today and I told her that I was debating the Anaheim Plaza (where we usually stay with the kids) or splurging for the Fairfield so we might be able to get a view of the Fireworks...

I am still trying to decide what to do for Dining. I am pretty sure we will do PS at Cafe Orleans (her favorite dish is there). I am trying to decide on 2 more nicer meals (one each day), but and not sure where yet. Any suggestions?

(Yes, I did make sure that all of my thread subscriptions and travel stuff goes to my work email now, after the initial secret got out, lol)

I'll be there January 3rd - 6th as part of my crazy California trip. It's my first trip to CA and I'm very excited!

Does anyone have any idea when the January hours will be released?

I know!
Waitingwaitingwaitingwaitingwaiting.
I feel like I can't really get into planning our itinerary without the entertainment schedule!
Has anyone made any of the PS arrangements yet?

WOOO HOOO! Another Diser that will be there when I am there!:goodvibes
Keep an eye out for me I will have my LGM hanging on my purse and if you spot me say hello.

We will be there for our last use of our APs, from Dec 31-Jan 3rd. Just a short trip, to say goodbye. Altho....the girls have APs until Feb 6th so I may be able to convince DBF to go again, and just get us hoppers......:)

We'll be there from Jan. 16-20th staying at the GCH. It'll be our first on site visit and we are all excited. We were there in April and couldn't wait to get back again with my 4 and 3 year olds.

I forgot to mention that I tried to make PS arrangement a few weeks ago but was told by the CM that I was too early. You can make PS arrangements 2 months before the actual day. I'll be calling tomorrow as I'd like to book Ariel's Grotto and Minnie's Breakfast, not to mention get my DD into the BBB.

We just booked last weekend for Jan 2-8. That way we will have 1 day and a 1/2 to see all the xmas stuff :cool1:

We will be staying at the Hojo the whole time. We rented a car to go to Legoland and possibly Knotts Berry Farm or Burbank (WB Studio tour).

I CANT WAIT!!!

:thumbsup2

YOu will love to GCH

The GCH is usually our destination hotel as we always stay onsite with great AP rates (I know maybe I am a bit spoiled but I found after staying onsite 1x that it was just too hard to stay offsite again)

During our trip this coming January we have decided for a change of pace to stay at the DLH as it is our second favortie of the 3.

I am so excited about January I can't hardly wait

All I keep thinking about is Christmas and DL in January I love it!!!!

Still hoping to see some DISers there so I can give a little hello gift to the first DISer I run into otherwise I guess I will get to keep the little gift I prurchase upon arrival to the DLH for myself if I don't have the pleasure of running into another DISer on this trip.

On another note......How long out does it have to be before we can start singin it's the final countdown??? LOL

Just giving us Januarian's a bumpty bump up to the 1st page incase anyone else wants to join in on the adventures and fun.

I feel as if I'm cheating here.... we will be there from Dec.29th through to Jan.9... so I'm in both threads! lol...
We may shorten up the trip to Jan.7th though...staying at Hojo's, although I just found the Hilton by the convention center for only $89. per night from the 29th to the 3rd!! that is cheaper than we are paying at Hojo's with the entertainment rate. http://hotel-guides.us/california/anaheim-ca-hotels.html
if anyone wants to check it out. You do have to pay there in advance, when you book, no refunds though.
We were there last year same time frame, and it was nice to have a few days that were still "Christmas" then on the monday, it started to change very quickly. The park was so empty on that monday!! we even found the sunday when Christmas was still in full swing to be very "uncrowded". There seems to be a lot more going to be closed this year that first week of Jan. though, so that's why we are considering shortening up the trip, and to save some money.

Yesterday I was able to reserve the BBB and made a PS for AG's for the 17th! My DD and I can hardly wait!

My DS would like to go to Goofy's Kitchen. We've never been but I also read on Dis that breakfast with Minnie & Friends is great. I think we will only be able to do one or the other of these character breakfasts this trip around. For those that have gone before, which one do you prefer?

Well hello! We're (my two sisters and I) going January 6 - 8th tentatively. It's tentative since we just got a puppy and my parents will be in Europe on their anniversary vacation. We might just find a pet friendly hotel, keep Jingles in the Disneyland kennel and come back to feed her, walk her and give her potty breaks.

Awesome....more Januarians!!!! and some that will be there when we are there!!! Yeah.

Im kinda thinking if anyone else is up to it from the 5th through the 8th of January if you want to pick a day and have a little meet and greet?
It does not have to be long, just an hello and introduce and if we choose to chat and get snacks well that is fine as well.

On a sad note I have seen that one of our fellow DIS board memebers just passed away (fairykin/Dawn). I never met her personally but know that she was a part of the DIS DIVAs group and has replied many times to my posts thought the time I have been a member.
I know like all of us she was a huge disney fan and my thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.
I plan on getting a Mickey mouse balloon during our January DL trip and letting it go to the heavens in her honor, because what I have seen and heard from others here who knew her she was a very special person.

We will be there Dec 31 to Jan 9th. It's a surprise Christmas gift for DD10. We did the same thing last year, but DH was unable to make the trip, and we really missed him. So, doing it again this year. DH is not quite the Diser I am, so it took a little work, but he agreed!!!:woohoo:

I have booked my airline tickets, but still costing out the difference of staying on-site to our regular off site hotel. We haven't ever stayed on-site before, so looking at splurging, because it is getting harder and harder to convince DH to go. Although, he has a great time once he is there, and loves getting out of the freezing cold here.

Yeah for another Januarian and also a surprise for your DD!!!!:cool1:
I am sure she will love the surprise!!!

For as many days as you are going are you getting park hopper tickets?
If so consider making one of them an AP and then you can use the AP rates that the hotels are offering for part of your stay.....it's just a thought.

We are AP holders and we will be staying at the DLH during this stay with a rate of 149.00 a night or we could have stayed at the GCH for 219.00 a night or even the PPH for 129.00 a night....these are all the rates that they are offering AP holders for the first part of January the rates start Jan 5th so you could use them for at least 4 of your nights there if you wanted and either stay onsite the whole time paying the higher rate for the first part of your trip and the lower AP rate when it kicks in for the last part of your trip or you can do a split stay and stay at your normal offsite hotel and then take addvantage of the resort hotels once the rate kicks in.
Anyhow just a thought.
What ever you do I know you will enjoy it because after all no matter where you stay you will be at Disneyland:cloud9:

We are going!!! My DH, DD (3) and DMIL will be in the park Jan 9-12th.

Yeah, can't wait!!!! :woohoo:

Thanks to TinkAndPooh for starting this thread.

We'll be finishing up our 5 week holiday in the States with 4 days at Disney Jan 3-6. We'll be staying at the Hojo.

Speaking of crowds & opening times, I read somewhere - perhaps Hojo board? - that that 1st week in Jan would be busy because of delayed school openings and a bowl game. So perhaps it will still be peak time, even though the holiday decos are coming down.

And like JozyMouse, we're hoping to see the holiday decorations for a little bit before they're taken down.
